BMW and M Power Owners

I bought some in 2021.

I've still got most of it. It lasts for ever and if it saves me from having blocked washer jets it's even more worth it.

It’ll only be because it’s silicone free though, which many other brands are.

My windscreen gets absolutely obliterated by bugs during the warmer months and I go through a tank of fluid roughly every month :(

haven't ever bought a specific summer screenwash, just use higher dilution of exclusively ethanol based winter washes
I concluded it is the ethyl glycol in some screen washes that causes blockage.

yes I believe it's the mix of cheaper ethyl glycol or ethanol variants
which is why after flushing/siphoning the 3er tank last year - I'm exclusively buying the ethanol ones - bought polygard specifically

Had a drive home this evening and the vibrations are kind of gone on the front right...not going to say it's gone but I'll monitor it .. weird :/

Just realised my horn is not working. That will have to be sorted under Warrenty as that's an MOT failurem although I'll check it's not a fuse first. I don't think it's fuse related. As it made a faint sound then didn't work at all..I'm sure I tested this was working when I got the car

Edit ok switched off the car and back on and it's working

I suspect I have a duff TPMS sensor. It used to give me warnings about tyre pressure when it was very cold but even now at 16'C it asks me to check and reset the TP every startup. Is there any way to check if one is duff? The pressures are all OK once reset, but if one isn't reading right that may not be the case. I'll check them with my digital inflator at the weekend.

Do you have the system which tells you what the pressure is in each tyre? Do they all read correctly?

Does it actually read the pressure, or just go off what you input as the 'correct' value?
AFAIK it's a true pressure reading, I get each individual tyre pressure on the idrive. The pressures are always fine and always green. When I had a slow puncture on my rear left this showed as low pressure and changed the colour to orange.

I noticed yesterday that I have a bit of an oily substance on the rear bumper of my M340i, which looks like this has perhaps dripped off onto the drive (though the splatter pattern is a bit strange!). Anyone know what this might be? I can’t see that anything could drip down or splash up onto that part of the bumper.

Dog or cat pee?

Maybe I need to do a sniff test! Now I think about it I did notice something similar a while back on one of my wheels (edit: just found a pic I took of it and it’s remarkably similar). Weirdly though, our drive is quite set back from the road and we’re the end house.

Doorbell cam?? Dog relieving itself seems the obvious answer!

Its not my dog then. My dog pees on the wheels of a car round my area but as the person parks their car on the pavement I quite happily let my dog do it

No doorbell cam unfortunately. The car is set back quite a bit from the front of the house in front of the garage, so I might look to get a camera on the front of the garage at some point.

Folks - what is the process for clearing your data from an iDrive 7 eqipped BMW? My M340i is being part exchanged and getting picked up today. I had a look at the driver profiles and I can see a 'Remove Driver Profile' so I assume it is that? But I've also read something about resetting everything back to factory settings? Is removing my Driver Profile or do I need to reset everything too? If its both - which one first?

Thanks :)
