I think the point that the maps are a bit small is fair, Liberation peak is the largest in the beta and even that can be a bit congested. I'd like to see some bigger ones in the full release, hopefully firestorm delivers.
Part of the issue I think is that they have to pander to the instant gratification crew as well as CoD goons. I'm not against smaller maps as long as there are options for bigger ones.

The more I play the more I'm thinking matchmaking is utter dog poop at the moment. Every game at the moment is just a steamroller one way or the other.
 
Had some fun today, the maps are small and not Battlefield (albeit enjoyable for infantry) but I wonder if they are using them initially for infantry to monitor games and then later, maybe just the full release, open of the maps for vehicle fun - they are way too tight for tanks.

I always enjoy Battlefield and the silly fun you can have - for example being able to steal revives is jolly fun.

edit: the match making did feel off in some games I played.

It is basically just COD again.

Gameplay feels very similar to BF 2042. Maps are designed like COD too. BF3/4 fans will be disappointed. Unless things change, I can see this game failing hard after a couple months, maybe not as hard as bf 2042 did but won't be far off.

Performance is superb though even without FG on a 5080 at 4k.

I've read elsewhere that BF has adopted an SBMM similar to COD. As a result, 9 out of 10 games you play you will get demolished. That final 1 game you will win by a massive margin and then the cycle repeats.

I dont actually see if failing, I could see it grabbing the attention of a lot of CoD players who maybe want something a little more military looking and have gotten a little of tired of being killed by people dressed as Family Guy or wearing a bright pink bunny outfit. So imo, even if it losses some BF players, whatever they lose in those I think they will (more than) gain in CoD players.

People said the same with BF 2042 and COD players.... :p

The BF franchise as we know it is long gone now though.

There is via config apparently, Fr33thy on YT has a vid with his config.
Hes one of the best for these tweaks etc.
I havent used it myself but he says you can turn it down to 0 via config amongst many other settings.

Just grabbed the vid for you.

The helicopters feel like absolute **** it has to be said, it feels like you're being forced along a straight line almost like you're on rails in the air and if you deviate from that you start to dive towards the ground.

Dunno if there's bug or something on my end but the graphics don't look that great to me. Very grainy. Everything maxed out but with film grain, vignette etc turned off.

Edit: actually just fixed it. By default sharpness is at 50% which is too high and looks awful. Turn it down to 25% and game looks nice nicer

Really enjoying it so far. It runs great, the maps we have got access to all feel fun to play and I'm enjoying how the weapons feel too.
