——The Official Battlefield 6 Thread——

Been playing most of this evening and the more I play the more I dislike..

The tight COD maps with aim assist controllers is getting a bit much. Could've atleast had one wide open conquest beta map but nope

Reports that this is basically COD with vehicles don't bode well. I was hoping for a more measured, tactical pace, with a broader scale. I'll give the open beta a try at the weekend, but it looks like I'll have to keep waiting for '83 for my online FPS fix.

Is there a way in the loadout section from the main menu to see what weapons are class locked in the closed weapon mode? Want to do some comparing / see what my options are while not sat AFK in game.

EDIT
Also, I can't seem to see a key bind option for the class active ability. Any way to change it from 6?

Yep and vehicle combat sucks for it, I haven't seen any tank vs tank battle for example, the maps are just narrow corridors like cod, people drive tanks and get spammed with rpg's. I don't actually know why the game has vehicles, they are basically pointless

Just put in a few hours....

I love it :D . It feels just like the older BF's to me which is just awesome. Don't get all the complaints personally. Bunch of moany old farts?

Liked
Graphics - beautiful but overly sharpened out of the box. Needs some dialling in (I.e., sharpness on ZERO).
The visuals are dirty and gritty, exactly like they should be. That clinical look of BF2042 is gone.
Performance - perfect, silky smooth high fps. No stutters.
Network - no rubber banding in a BF beta..what?
Audio - incredible - the best BF has ever sounded.
Destruction - amazing - so much fun and feels more like BC2.
You can disable the friendly soldier and vehicle outlines (thank the Lord).

Disliked
UI elements are too big and it's not always obvious when you get a kill (at least to me). Probably just needs getting used to.
Menus feel a bit clunky but tbh it's a beta and I suspect this will be improved.

I didn't notice the TTK being lower which probably just means I suck at the game so this doesn't bother me personally.

Noticed a few visual glitches and DLSS 4 performance mode is bugged but nothing major. No crashes or major issues.

Can't wait for October.

When you say it feels just like the older BFs to you, which of the older BFs are you saying, are we talking BF1942/BF2 , or BF3/BF4 and which aspects of it feel just like it?

Lots of reports saying aim assist is broken but not as you are describing. It doesn't work or very weak.

I think it has a solid base but could do with some tweaks. We all know beta is basically what it's going to launch with. My PC fans seem to be ramping up a huge amount though.

I've just been playing the bot infested initiation matches which has a handful of players on the server and boy are those bots lethal...lol.
It's a good way to rank up gear though and get through some of the challenges too.

Narrow map design is all well and good but I hope to see the larger maps stretch the legs of the game as it all feels a bit narrow and meat grindy in places, but I think there'll be some good Portal variations at launch.

Didn't die too badly which is always a bonus although the obligatory spawn into a tank just as it explodes is always a right of passage :D

I think unless they add a server browser I'll be skipping BF6. Matching making is just awful, I don't want to play on whatever map the game decides, I want to be able to pick. If I'm playing alone and end up in a decent squad, I want to play with that squad again in the next round, not get thrown back to menu then thrown into another random game with different squad entirely.

Also the maps I've play are pretty poor at best, where are the battlefield maps. Not cod maps

There is an option to stay in squad at the end of the round. Not tried it though.

Oh ok I'll look out for that.

Another bad thing about matchmaking is that I seem to keep getting the same map repeatedly, that awful Gibraltar map. I know there's only 3 to choose from but is it that hard for it to atleast choose one that you haven't just played.
