——The Official Battlefield 6 Thread——

It feels like COD Ground War - Not Battlefield…

I was super excited for this, like ready to sink many hours into it but I feel like it watches better than it plays and feels if that makes sense.

Then again, I hated 2042 but have ended up really enjoying it, in its current state anyway.

I’ll definitely keep in the loop and continue to play, after all it’s something different for now and see how I get on.

Such a weird situation just now, Played through a round of "Breakthrough" and I'm not sure if it was a bug but it was as if i had aim assist bumped up to the max (on a mouse!) i wasn't even aiming just firing and hitting 98% of the shots and getting loads of kills!

Also, There is absolutely cheaters already, Had a very obvious one earlier using walls.

I think almost every battlefield beta that was available to the public has had cheats in it. I remember as far back as Bad Company 2 and some guy on Wookie hilltop with an mg going full auto just mowing people down with headshot after headshot. Seems par for the course with battlefield games, cheats knocking about before the games even released.

I wonder if thats why I had a match earlier where a guy (name was SlenderMan) had a K-D of 67-1. I just assumed he was in a tank the whole match but you've got to wonder.

Just came top of the board in my team for first time :) im liking it, i dont really find it that fast, well, i dont play that way anyway, ttk is perfect and i dont get when people say your basically dead if someone shoots at you first, as ive taken
hits first a load of times and come off with the kill.

Guess its just a case of user error..or ( get good ) like the youngsters say lol and im not great at these games anymore, i usually come middle of the board

You're right, could be an age thing, couple of decades ago I loved the faster paced shooters but as the years have passed I find now that I appreciate more the slower more tactical paced shooters, I think thats why I moved more toward games like Hell Let Loose, Hunt Showdown and soon Arc Raiders. I find that what I lack in reaction times now , I can supplement with my mind better in games like those, where its less about your K/D/Score and more about the way you play which gets you victory. I still like a BF style shooter but they arent my mainstay when it comes to shooters anymore, which is fine, the more different sorts of shooters there are the more choice we all have of what we want to spend our time playing :)

Oh i agree, love hell let loose, it is a slower pace of game but ttk is basically hit dead in that game lol its much more realistic which i love it for, i find bf6 much more easy than hll, but i love most fps games especially competitive ones, im no spring chicken either unfortunately :(
im 46 years old now so reactions have also slowed somewhat :)

Yeah its that slower pace in HLL that I like (and that you get way more teamwork in it compared to the faster sorts of shooters), the ttk is very low in HLL but I like that if I get killed its because I've not used my head, rather than a case of an enemy has just sprinted round a corner like a relative of The Flash, bunny hopped 4 times, spun 180 degrees and shot me and sprung off down the road like Tigger before my mouse has even moved :D

I can't get it to run at all. Windows version complains that I don't have secure boot enabled (I do), PS5 version won't let me link my PSN account so I can't log in.

I played a couple of hours last night, so here's my take.

It's fast, very fast. Almost twitch-level (I've never played COD so can't compare)
ADS is ridiculously slow for such a fast game. I ended up switching to iron sights and even that's too slow but it's better.
Healing time is far too short. Med packs are redundunt.
Movement feels a bit floaty (mouse acceleration?)

Performance is odd. I'm getting 90-150 fps (usually around 120) but changing ingame settings does almost nothing to the framerate. Whether going from Ultra with no DLSS or low settings with DLSS on, there's maybe a 10fps difference. Something odd with my system maybe? (12-700k, RTX5080, 3440x1440@100hz vsynch off)

Pretty positive so far, would like to see how larger maps play. I'd want to play a bit more to see if I can justify that eye-watering purchase price (I'm a cheapskate and don't normally like to pay more than 25 or so for a game)

I got this secure boot issue but when I checked bios I needed to change secure boot from custom to windows standard....all fine then.

I timed my summer holidays badly, leaving tomorrow!

The movement/speed definitely looks more reminiscent of COD than BF, but until I try it I'll reserve judgement.

I too am getting a little older and prefer PvE MP games of late (such as HD2, Darktide), but then I never had a great deal of skill in shooters at my peak so there wasn't far to fall.

Assault has a built in wallhack @ 5:13

What a load of tosh video. I've hated on dice for years now because of what they did to my baby. I started my journey from 1942, for this guy to say Delta Force is much more worth playing because its free to play and not £60 ? rubbish lol

Delta Force is utter gash.

No idea why he is saying performance is bad either. So many people, including myself, have had no issues running this. The idiot even says at 8.30 mins that this is running on UE5 lol.

Yeah the maps they selected have been gash but it is a lot more like BF3/4.

My thoughts are - runs well if you tweak it, maps are ok as long as they have large scale warfare ones coming on release.. It's certainly a step in the right direction to BF3/4 but its not perfect.

I honestly didn't think I would be buying another BF game but I've had a blat playing this.
