That sums it up well tbh. Also the spiritual incest of 2942 and COD comment :-p. Maybe they'll listen and make the right changes but I really doubt it at this point, especially in time for launch. Everything the Devs are saying towards the negativity so far, just feels like they are wanting to give us hope to get a purchase but in reality they've already made and are sticking with the poor decisions.

I finally managed to get put in a round on the map with jets and helis. It was better than the other other other 2 maps but still too small. Definitely shouldn't have bothered putting jets in it due to the size, that just seemed more like a box ticking exercise. Not tried the jets yet but the attack chopper flies like a breeze block! Was shocked at how awful it felt.
 
Yep, pretty much sums up my first impression of it over the last two days.

Hopefully it makes enough money that they open up portal again and port old big maps back in.

I certainly won't be buying it in its current state.

I knew I wouldn't love it as I always played hardcore servers so having everyone visible on mini maps and with red dots above their heads isn't fun for me
 
crazy numbers yes, however I'd be inclined to guess a lot of those are false positives, also how many of that number are secure boot detections?

No idea, but its EAs own numbers so you'd think if anything they would want to play down the number rather than inflate it...its a bonkers amount if you work it out, how many are playing the last 2 days, shall we say... 3 million?

So, lets assume it is 3 million. 330k in 3 million is around 10% (for ease of figures) .. or 1 in 10, which would equate, in a game of 32 v 32, as 6 people per match cheating. Now this isnt , by any means, a BF6 problem, this is an online FPS problem. Its throughout the genre. Lets hope that all of these detections help them to close the holes up

Vet from 1942, now I'm starting to get my user.cfg nailed down I'm loving it even more. Just hope they pull off the big maps on release.
 
Finally open beta was available. Queued early today. Was 152,690 but the wait wasn't too long thankfully. Pretty good back to realism unlike 2042.
 
Nope nothing. I wonder if it's 'cos I'm running the 580.88 drivers? Hmm it might be because i've updated the DLSS model...

The big maps will be key to me...and I mean plural maps, not 1 big map, plenty of big maps, thats what BF was all about, big, mixed arms maps. Always loved the big maps from BF1942 that had a mix of infantry, vehicle, air AND ships in them. So rarely since then have they made the effort to have all 4 types on one map. If they're not in it, then its even less likely than it already is, to be a buy from me

Had a bash this morning.

Feels like the pacing is just too fast and is a generally all round hectic experience.

Maybe i'm just getting old.

Just come off the back of a few more matches, I've really tried to click with it, I've done 10 hours now and thats the conclusion I'm increasingly coming to. Its not a game issue, its a me issue. I just cant be having with this 100mph running about, bouncing around corners, sliding up stairs lark. Its all just way too fast for me, might be my own rose tinted glasses or me being better able to react 20 years ago but this isnt how I remember it. For every fun match I have, I have a match which simply isnt fun and my fun shouldnt be restricted to only being 50% of the time. As I say, not a game issue, I'm sure the game will do very well and hopefully a new generation will come to love the BF series for it but for this old man, its time to close the book on my own Battlefield story. I just cant keep up nowadays. I managed to get a KD of 24-2 yesterday, which I guess is ok but tbh, looking back at that match I cant in all honesty say that it was a fun-filled half hour... was more like 6 mins of fun, 24 mins of not-fun

Kudos to EA though for a well put together product this time round, its just made of ingredients for a cake I dont like to eat :)
