——The Official Battlefield 6 Thread——

Recon is an absolute useless class in it's current form. You may as well run Assault with a sniper as a secondary and you'll be much more versatile and have some survivability, plus the maps don't lend themselves to the class much. Liberation peak being the exception. I think there needs to be a glint hider or reduction perk that can be unlocked which would help, but also counter that with allowing only maybe 1 Recon per squad so it doesn't just turn into a paparazzi explosion on the larger maps. :D
Larger maps - Liberation Peak feels like half of an old BF map and I'm not sure if Firestorm will be full size as the original, but it seems like they've had to reduce map size to keep performance up due to the destruction.
Movement is too fast overall and feels like it's chasing the wrong demographic for what BF is about. We don't want Mil-Sim, but also, don't want Apex/CoD movement either and I think it's too close to the latter.

Still looking forward to what comes next week in the second part of the Beta but I'm a little on the fence about the game as it seems a scaled down version of what BF used to be.
  • Completely agree with the recon thing. Its just generally a pointless class at the moment, that may change with further gadgets/perks etc but as it stands its a waste of time. I used it purely for the challenge. I think when the game releases I'll probably play the class locked game mode.
  • As for larger maps. I agree they need larger maps and that might still come. I think we will probably be slightly disappointed with the size of initial release maps bar maybe Firestorm. The problem isnt only just size though, its the channeling. Liberation peak is what I'd consider a decent size, but its made to feel smaller because you are funneled into 3 main choke points.
I'd like a return of the Conquest Large mode sized maps from BF4 personally, what I feel we will have though if original conquest size with 5 caps, so everything is more condensed. Maybe that will come. however, I fear not.
  • I'm generally fine with the movement, yeah its a little fast paced but its something I can cope with and work with. I think its a good middle ground, not what I'd like but something I can work with. As for target demographic. I feel that there in lies the issue. I feel that just targeting the original BF crowd is too small for the lofty goals they have for this. Therefore they cant afford to have this be too alien to the CoD crowd. hence we have a compromise.

Bit under whelming. Battlefield is not as popular as EA wants it to be. EA said it wants 100 million players for BF6, they ain't getting that if they can only manage 340k peak when the game is free
ermmmm not 520k ? It's even in the screen you replied to.

obviously it's not including EA App or Console users.

They wont get near 100 million but don't massage figures.

How have you completely ignored the 520k peak there? And this only on Steam! Imagine these numbers + all of the PlayStation players and then EA App as well!

I had fun using the recon last night, but that was because I was running around using a shotgun! Which to be honest, needs a nerf.
Never tried recon on the big map though. We played for several hours and only got on the big map once.

Would love to play this on PC but can't get passed the secureboot restriction without a windows reinstall. Will sort it out for the full release though, enjoyed it enough on console, but controller

Years of anti consumer practices finally catching up with them perhaps?

Currently sitting 4th in 24hr activitiy on Steam...

Its an EA title with the "early beta" keys being EA app keys, and all the marketing is directed towards the EA app. Steam numbers are not representative.

Pc better be getting a browser, without it's whack. Loads of balancing needs done, auto spotting kills any tactics. Jets are boring, choppers useless vs all the ground thread, either cut the ground threat back or make choppers and jets OP.

I used an AA gun for the first time today. What's with the incredibly slow sensitivity? I have to pick up my mouse several times to make a full 360 traverse, yet tank turrets and mounted MGs all feel fine, so I don't want to change the sensitivity settings. Anyone else or is it just me? Can't be a design decision can it....surely you want the guns designed to track fast movers to actually be able to do so.

I’m enjoying it but I hate that it still seems medics don’t play like medics.

I feel I’m allowed to judge because when I play the medic role I’ll make an effort to revive everyone I can. But it’s frustrating people just go for the quick death and waste the teams tickets

I think it varies, some games no revives at all and others theres a production line of defibs

only got the pc in april, ryzen 9800x3d and a 9070 xt, is there a way i can switch it on and what does it affect ?
On my board all I had to do was open advanced menu > boot menu and set 'secure boot' to 'windows UEFI'
Has 0 effect on performance, it was the first thing I tried. In fact got a new record on steel nomad which was a surprise.

Should be able to do without within bios.

Unless youre like using a very old windows install
I had to create a 200mb partition to do the mbr2gpt thing.

100% Agree with this, I've had multiple people just run past me when down not even making an effort to revive, even without anyone around us.

I just put it down to Battlefield players being Battlefield players.
