The worrying thing is, people turned around and in unison said “yes, yes that’s a fantastic way to end a film”
And those people, boys & girls are ******* idiots.
It just shows that consistency in good judgement and taste varies wildly among people, even those that are considered the best within their industries. If he has truly created a part 2 that features people pretending to be Jimmy Saville then he has truly lost the plot, because there is no doubt that doing so elevates Jimmy Saville and will make many people, who do not know who he was or what he did, think Saville is cool. It makes no difference if the movie is supposed to be set before or after Saville did or did not do those things, Danny Boyle knows what he did and he is choosing to essentially glorify Jimmy Saville, even if he is somehow too dense to not realize it.I was just more shocked than anything else at the time, it felt so surreal and so out of place to the theme of the movie. I am even more surprised on how Danny portrayed it.
Honestly, all they had to do was make the movie about zombies that, due to retaining some glimmers of their humanity, were starting to develop a rudimentary culture and their own crude religion.Hung alpha Zombie with zombie wolf packs hunting hooman's
It felt like there was no way in this universe it would ever get more sequels, but that ending being like that would do it.
It already has, but I wouldn’t recommend paying the rental cost for it.I've decided to put off watching this until it comes to streaming services. I really liked the first two, but I'm not so enthusiastic about this one.
struggling to finish this to be honest just so dull .i found it pretty boring and all over the place - frankly the ending was the most fun.
Also for those that forget, those shellsuits were a popular thing at the time, with various temporary "icons" (not just Saville) wearing them, as was the bling.Exactly that. In the 28 world, the outbreak was before Savile was revealed and they grew up watching TV from that age, hence the emphasis in the opening scenes.
I read an interview where Boyle confirmed this.
That would all be fine, apart from the fact that all had long white/blonde hair...My group had a laugh at that bit, as we immediately got the references and remembered how people were dressing around that time, and how it became a stereotype.
Wether it was Jimmy Saville, 80's fasion wear or power rangers, whatever the clothing doesn't get away from the fact it was a mockery of the ethos of the previous films, for Danny Boyle's misplaced ego driven excuse that the end was a new clockwork Orange. What a pretentious turd. Also for those that forget, those shellsuits were a popular thing at the time, with various temporary "icons" (not just Saville) wearing them, as was the bling.
Traumatised kids who'd grown up watching things like Byker Grove, The A Team, and the various pop icons, action movies etc thinking that shellsuits and/or bling was a good look is not that out there.

This is what immediately sprang to mind as an easy to located example, but I remember various pop singers, sports people, presenters all wearing tracksuits and there being some sort of competition to see who could wear the loudest most eye watering ones in some groups, especially youngsters.
