What film did you watch last night?

been rewatching the godfather films. been a long while. watched the first and 2nd. absolute class. now onto the third which we all know is....kinda dog shizzle. :D
The newer cut which came out in the last 5 years ish, the death of Michael Corleone, makes the third film a little better than it was. I’d recommend trying that version if you’ve not watched it yet.

The Pickup - 5.5/10

Kind of silly, certainly a silly plot, but at the same time it was an easy watch and reasonably entertaining.
I watched this at the weekend and I think you summed it up perfectly. Good to see Eddie Murphy in something. I might even give it 6 as it was clearly not trying to be something it wasn't. No regrets watching it.

Happy Gilmore 2

I was a fan of the first one, i cant say i am a massive fan of the second one, i found it a bit far fetched and what is with all the weird CGI stuff?

I thought it was good having Rory Mclroy in there though, at first i thought he may have found it a bit cringe but looking at interviews of him about the film apparently hes a massive fan of the happy gilmore films and was privileged to be in this

I do prefer the first one though

The Blob (1988)

Wasn't sure if I'd seen it back in the VHS days, even after watching it I'm still not sure. Either way, it's not terrible and not that good either. Par for the course for a late 80's horror.

4/10
Not seen this in ages, but remember it being a enjoyable movie. IMO a 6/10 is more fitting.

I would give 4/10 to the original with Steve McQueen. Good story and effects for the time, but the acting really let it down.

Both are masterpieces though compared to the sequel, Beware! The Blob.

I probably would've rated it higher back then, just for the gore effects alone. But I'm just too jaded in general to be generous with my scoring :D

Kraven The Hunter

I'd give it a 6/10. Like a lot of Superghero films it was enjoyable in parts, but let down by a poor story...
