——The Official Battlefield 6 Thread——

I think its broken as DLSS hardly increased performance for me and caused crashing..

frame gen did ZERO to increase frame rate..

Oh really? My laptop was dealing with it really well. Played at 3840x1600 with a mix of high settings but turning things down like shadows to low and I was getting well above 120FPS and I had assumed it was to do with having DLSS and frame generation on.

I also played this on a PS5 Pro and was surprised how well it ran on there even on the big maps.
Were you playing in the performance mode? I ran a fps log playing on PS5 Pro on my monitor and it was comfortably sitting at 110-120fps no matter what, it really seemed like it was just a solid lock at times.

Looks fantastic too, even in the performance mode.

For those that want to play a Battlefield game like BF4? Go and play BF4. For those that want a modern take on the Battlefield genre? BF6 is for you.

Question for the "It plays like COD" complainers. Have you guys actually played COD recently? If you haven't then your comment is pretty bloody stupid. The pacing soldier speed in particular in BF6 is considerably slower than COD. My dude felt like he was running through treacle, though each footstep did feel weighty compared to COD. Weapons switching in BF6 is a lot slower, as is ADS speed. BF6 guns have more recoil. The comment that todays BF plays like todays COD is just wrong.

It is actually insane to suggest they are the same.

It's not so much the movement speed for me, though I think sprint would benefit from a cool down. It's the minimal recoil and tiny maps. And lots of things seemed to be dumbed down. Do we really needed painted capture lines etc? It's not a bad game but not worth £60 to me because in it's current state feel like something's I'd be bored off in a few weeks. Seems to lack to depth of previous games and instead opts for instant pew pew action.
The take of increasing recoil etc is promising but I don't want to have to buy the game to find out it's still not enough. Hopefully the changes will get added to labs and the bar stewards will finally invite me :-p

Yeah I was playing in Performance mode I believe, I was using my OLED TV that supports up to 120 and when I did check the FPS it was 100+ which really surprised me on the big maps (in fact the big maps seemed to run better than the small ones even with tanks etc.)

I'll be playing on PC on release but would have no problems using the Pro if I needed to.

Yep, likewise for me. I'll mainly play it on PC but having it on PS5 will be great for when I'm away for work and just want to bring my PS5 Pro with me - and great that the difference between the two feels pretty marginal!

Yes, the Empire State map...
That map looks really fun - although I think it's a shame we're not getting a bigger one for this weekend.

It'd almost be better just removing the 3 we had last weekend and giving us 3 different ones this weekend (New Sobek City & Mirage Valley both look like huge maps from the previews so far - so those 2 plus this Empire State one would be a fun change of pace).

Is the revive drag automatic?

I run support with the defibrillator and didn't know how to perform the drag to get them out of sight of enemy fire.

Im getting increasingly worried about map size.
If its even at BC2 size id be happy as of yet theres only one anywhere near that size.

:-p
I have to say that I completely disagree with you on infinite sprint ans capture lines. Infinite sprint has been a staple of BF games, cooldown would be horrific on the large maps.

The painted capture zones is something I think they should have added decades ago. I even like the in world solution of showing physically spray painted lines rather that glowing outlines in Cod.

I’m on ps5, will have to see what button is interact. Thanks
It's square on PS5 for the drag/stim pen revive - but change to defibs with up on the d-pad (or left?) to put your defibs out and then you charge/apply them with R2. Longer you hold R2 the more health the person you revive comes back with. Sometimes a quick defib is more useful than a slower full charge.
wondered same tbh as i had the defib but on pc
Same as above - so E on PC drags for the stim revive but press '3' to swap to your defibs for a defib revive.

I really like the painted lines - but I do wish we still had the flags on point as well going up/down depending on capping. It's such a tiny thing but feels like a proper Battlefield point when you've got a changing flag.

many people are still not getting the importance of no server browser to join groups of friends. many play in bigger groups of four. this will lead to less sales less players. hopefully the sort it out.

Agree, I prefer "in world" visualisations of information rather than everything being on a HUD.

With my aging 3090 I was playing at 4k, dlss balanced with everything maxed and only getting 70-85fps roughly. Does that seem low? Hard to tell as the benchmarks are all about more recent cards.
What I'm getting with mine, however I must have missed DLSS settings in the menu. No idea if it's on (assume so if we're getting similar FPS).
