Tomei silencer box removed, because who wants that :D

Few issues sorted at the same time, turbo elbow gasket and front pipe had a small leak, a few map tweaks, etc.

Aircon gas has also been converted to new type.

Wheel refurb day today. I wanted either a super bright silver or chrome powder coat. There's lots of chrome or polished aluminium bits around the car so I took the brave pill and went for chrome. I think it looks fantastic, much better than black centres and silver rims - you can actually see the wheels now!

With them being powder coated they have all the benefits of polished/chrome wheels without the maintenance, they are finished with ordinary lacquer as per any other colour powder coating.

Love the finish, mine were diamond cut and I had them done in chrome as well. Mine are a shade lighter but I really like yours!

Where did you have them done if you don't mind me asking?

Love a saloon, far superior looking to a coupe!

They were done at Powdercoating Shropshire. I think he's planning on getting some Black Chrome in too which looks equally mega!

Completely agree!

That garage is a 4 hour drive for me! I was hoping it was closer as mine need redoing by next summer I reckon. The paint is cracking in some areas due to poor workmanship I assume. I miss the diamond cut finish but I don't want the hassle of needing to have them done every 6 months!

Is yours lowered? Just noticed that it sits lower than mine.

The paint on those Mercs gives me PTSD from trying to sand one :(

I went through so many pads trying to remove the orange peel.

Did a diy ceramic coating of my tesla and also got new wheel covers.

Looks great and love the colour. I was talking to a detailer the other day as I had got him in to do our fleet during our hosepipe ban. He suggested that ceramic coating should ideally be done inside because of contaminants in the air. Did you do yours inside?

Nah I probably agree, as there was a bit of sap coming off nearby trees! I don't have a garage to do it (and it would need a wide garage for this car!)

To be fair i just made sure nothing visible came off.

It's not the same level of thickness as a proper workshops ceramic coating anyways, but then I think you pay like £1000 for that.

He does a same day service if that's any help, mine were started at 8am and back on the car by 2.30pm.

Yes it's lowered on H&R springs!

Also Plastidipped the pony on the grille.

Ruined it tbh.

I really wish the car community would get past this ridiculous obsession with everything being black.

Car designers have probably given up by now.

"So I'm gonna add this little line here to really accentuate the curves on the back of the car and make them stand out more. I find it really highlights the lines of the car and helps everything flow better"

Humming about the below, I detest the wheels

I agree with you completely. However, with the rest of the accents all being black on the car I felt it was only right for the pony to be black too.
I'd much prefer chrome trim, silver or gunmetal wheels, and chrome badges. In my mind is was the easiest way to make it all come together. I'll probably have the wheels done in gunmetal when I inevitably kerb them, and then I'll re-visit the badging.
