New Antec HCG Pro ATX3.1 80+ Platinum PSUs available at OCUK and reviewed by Kitguru

I'm thinking about maybe picking up the 1200W variant and was wondering how long the cables were? I saw a review complaining about the cables in Vertex being way too long and the Antec is same/based on Vertex?

Thanks

Got two of the 1000W ones arriving on Wednesday.

Only intended to upgrade my sons old 550w to something bigger, ended up buying myself one as well lol, couldn't resist.

Hi everyone, thinking about getting this psu, what's everyone's experience that has one, is it everything it's cracked up to be?

Given the fairly high price on these, I ended up buying the NZXT C1500 for £40 more than the 1200w variant. Seemed a no brainer as a 5090 user.
Ahh, I don't mind paying a bit extra tbh, just threw a 9950x3d in with a 4090 and sometimes the 9070XT. The 1000 corsair is going in a 7800X3D build so I just wanted something that's future proof for the greedy components in the coming years lol.

The C1500 can be found as low as £240, and comes with two 12v-2x6 connectors. Worth checking out. Reviews well and is pretty efficient.

I’ve got one and pretty happy with it. My only complaint is the fan was a little louder than I anticipated. It isn’t loud at all, it’s just noticeable.

Hi looking for more information about this psu, thinking of getting the 850w or the 1000w but i am worried about the intial rush of power when switching it on as i live in a old house and i am worried when i switch it on their will be a burst of power that will trip the fuse box(circuit breaker) but i believe there is some protection with this psu but cannot find much information about it so if anybody can help please do.thanks.

Not an issue.

Does your fusebox trip when you switch on a heatgun, 3 bar electric heater on max, electric kettle, microwave, hairdryier, electric shower, electric oven, lawnmower?

no but electrical wiring in the house i old and i dont trust it too much so i always like to limit the risk if possible, in the past a kettle tripped the switch but i think it was the kettle's fault and my last psu blew when i turned the switch on at the back(initial power burst), do you know anything about the protection the psu has, it mentions some on the website but doesnt have much detail. and if i do take the risk not sure to get the 850w or the 1000w, will the 850w be safer.

I would look at getting your house checked over. A UK socket is rated up to around 3000W. You should have no issues running an 850 or 1000w PSU, the difference is meaningless.

Right guys, was going to get the 1200w seasonic vertex but seen this psu is quite a bit cheaper, would you say this antec is as good quality for the price? are they basically the same psu?

Dont really need 1200w as mostly go for the nvidia 70 series but thought why not just incase lol

Thanks
