——The Official Battlefield 6 Thread——

Seeing what we used to have to what Battlefield has become is kinda upsetting :(:(

Also rush is truly dog**** in BF6. Felt more like team DM with mcoms.

Fantastic video, does really well to explain the differences in the series. Unfortunately it also highlights why Portal can't fix the issues, you can't just remake an old BF2 map in portal, it will still play like BF6 because the game's design and systems are fundamentally not the same

Why is it the rubble from buildings doesnt seem to do much to players? I've ran through it a few times with big chunks coming down and taken no damage.

I understand why they do it (though it is a cheap and lazy approach to avoiding a problem) but the way the piles of rubble expand from the ground like goo makes me laugh.

Id love to see players get squished by walls coming down around them, just seems in this its purely a visual thing and not much else, unless its glitched and not doing damage to players on occasion.

I think I've had environment damage happen, though to be fair it was one of those hidey-holes you're probably not meant to go.

So a friend tried to play this tonight but couldn't because they don't have secure boot enabled. They got round the secure boot requirement by pulling their ethernet cable out, starting the game and then plugging it back in....

Probably get banned from EA next time

Played the new york map, just lol. This whole "beta" just seems geared to entice the cod crowd over, its just infantry meatgrinder pish for the most part with the standard dodgy battlefield hit registration issues.

Unless they're gonna release a proper 64 player map with multiple tanks per side and other vehicles in it for the last couple of days of this demo and wow us then I'm simply not convinced, it really could be any generic military game as to me it certainly does not scream Battlefield at all. Which in some ways is to be expected as DICE as we knew it is in name only, none of the old hands are there anymore because EA turned the company into a BF conveyer belt and wouldn't really let them do anything else.

I don't think it's for me. Played the new Brooklyn Map and it's a nice level design and it looks good but the gunplay just feel likes Warzone in a new skin.

You played COD recently? You think BF6 plays like COD? You need to give up on gaming if you do bud.

It is insane to suggest BF6 plays like COD. You, and all the BF "vets" in here, are insane.

How do you flick to someone you can't even see because they're behind a rock and not immediately assume something is off?
Because they're not flicking to someone, they're just flicking after every single kill they get and this is a curated selection of clips.

lol i played with many of the top people in many fps games. i have a group i already play with with lan champs tourne winners and cod pros. controller players you are using a crutch simple as that. if you using it on pc as a preference its cause you havent got the skill for the mouse and keyboard simple. as highlighted earlier. scump on keyboard and mouse cant even kill people at bronze level on cod
If you're complaining about someone using controller whilst you're on keyboard and mouse, the issue isn't the controller player.

In BF2 maps had sizes between 1km x 1km and 2km x 2km

These maps in the BF6 beta appear to be far smaller, my guess is around 4 to 8 times smaller
wasn't there a load of backlash/moaning at BF2042 launch that the maps were too big, with too much distance between points - so, I guess this is the result...

Trudging long distances between points is part of BF to me - either you lean on teamwork and climb onto vehicles together, or you're plodding miles. Sure. some people weren't so good at the vehicles, but I feel that older BF needed some adaptability to the situation. The map size-reduction seems to lean into the hands of solo bunny-hopping FPS'er?

last weekend seemed to be stable, but last night my PC did a hard reboot after about 30mins playing. Took a while before it would reboot and when it did my CPU was over 85° - never seen it pushed so hot (5900X). Guess I'll be playing with user.cfg to balance performance with processor cores...

I also noticed that last weekend seemed to always have a queue, but nothing last night - is it a Thu night thing, or has there been a significant drop in numbers already?

Dunno if it's my reduction in FPS skill with age, but I'm also finding the grind more noticeable this time. Played a good couple hours, occasionally appearing in the "top players" list at the end of the game, getting a load of weapon unlocks, but not even rank 5 yet.

In regards to "The Grind"; it depends on what the max rank is gonna be. I can remember at launch of 2042, achieving max rank of 55 (was it 55 at the time?) was too quick/easy. I enjoy having something to aim for (better rank/level) so I'm hopeful they sort it out with 6.

As for server queue? It was a school night and it wouldn't surprise me if they've allocated more servers to this weekend since last weekend was so "hot".

They need to make a statement - take away the k/d metrics and only show them in a non live menu. Make it very much about the points. A big point per match average attached to player tags. Like a badge of fame or badge of shame.

Reduce the fire rates make guns less accurate and like laser beams but increase damage - making correct ranging cover and tactical movement between cover important a thing making you invest more in a push or hold, as opposed to running in aimlessly looking to out react an opponent for a k/d and endorphin fuelled chain kill.

Vehicles need to be tougher making them a tactical objective, 5 rockets each? Make it 1 or 2 but the damage more, and the guys carrying them slower so you have to plan the attack bait the tank in for an ambush etc.

I don’t think the maps are bad - just the pacing is off. Maybe in old and slow now, but that’s what battlefield should lean into the thinking mans game - stop trying to do the kid gamer thing. There are a lot of 30-40 year old who have grown up with gaming.

Thats not Battlefield bud. It never has been that.

Your placement on the board is on points. Not kills.

Also, what is BF6 doing exactly that is the "kid gamer thing" exactly?
