I'm guessing there is a cool down that stops me pledging to someone new once you abandon one?
I got an SCO FSD for the Type 7 and I didn't realise they were a bit different because I tried to stick to the old 7s half throttle rule and overshot by many LS lol, now I'm half throttling around 20s instead and seems to work.
Did have a panic moment when it said my FSD operating outside of normal range and the temp was shooting up and I had no idea why, I assume it was running too long on full power/throttle or something.

Also tried EDCopilot last night but it crashed my game, also couldn't find a guide on how to use it with vr.
just to be clear. you do shut your sco boost off don't you before trying to throttle down? press once to turn on and once more to disable

SCO is like your normal boost, but for FSDs, sucks fuel like mad though. don't do what i did and activate it then toggle to another screen to check instructions; bugger kept accelerating like a daft thing and when i toggled back i was in deep space and fuelless :-D

No I didn't realise it was a separate thing lol. Was treating it like normal fsd
lol you will find it much easier if you just use it in small squirts , engage it then turn it off . as default the turbo button is assigned to the boost button in normal space
the new ships (python 2, type 8, Mandalay, cobra V, Corsair and (presumably) panther all use the sco drive much more efficiently.

Hmm so it is a normal fsd but accelerates quicker and you can use the boost in addition? I wonder if I accidentally pressed that then on that occasion when I was overheating.

I thought you had to do engineering to even get them so I was surprised to see one for sale on a station

no you can buy them all over the place. they can be engineered and you can get a double engineered one (the best one in the game) from a tech broker but you need a rare as hens teeth titan drive component from a destroyed thargoid titan (among other things) for that. it isn't dangerous getting it but it's tedious.

like for like they have a slightly better jump range than an equivalent drive and have the turbo boost as well. in short, in general if buying a new FSD now you may as well only consider getting an sco variant

They changed the patch notes, the first entry was a generic shadows fix when they first listed it :(
No wait, they didn't it's still there...

Do many of you guys play in squadrons? I've been playing almost entirely solo since I joined, I'm not yet set up for PvP so other than leaving myself open to the occasional gank I haven't seen much point. But I'm kind of interested in the Vanguards update but wouldn't know how to even start looking for or choosing a squad.
