It's still the same engine and still has the same issues. The netcode and ttd will NOT be fixed in the full game. This game is meant to be the best parts of the game, to get the pre sales monies..

Same every time with new products on that engine unfortunately - regression on the "netcode" from more mature products, takes forever for fixes and is never properly sorted. One of the reasons I doubt I'll be buying it unless I see much more substantial progress on that front.

Team: this is the next MP game, and EA are owning this.

Let's not lose sight this is a BETA, due for release in 2 months' time.

The idea that EA / DICE will listen / act on any of this feedback based off their actions with past games is nothing short of delusional.

Lets be honest with ourselves here. This "Beta" is a demo with a deceiving name. Based off previous DICE games what we are all seeing now is the best case scenario for the release game.

After further playing this weekend I have come to the conclusion that I will not be buying this unfortunately....

Lots of posts here saying that this is Battlefield, not in my opinion, I have put thousands of hours over the years into BF2/3/4/Bad company, didnt bother with the rest because they all had their problems just like this one.

Main 2 things for me is the COD style gunplay and the vehicle mechanices are trash.

It's not a bad game as such but it aint the Battlefield I once loved.

Ive been playing BF since 1942, and more specifically Desert Combat, and this most definitely is a BF game - I think people have forgotten what the earier games were like and now have this false narrative that it has 'dumbed down' for CoD Kiddies or similar ridiculous sentiment. It hasnt, it was never some hardcore combat sim, its more or less exactly the same as it always was, and this beta is generally awesome - a few things to be ironed out perhaps , but thats the point of a beta no? Every time a BF game comes out a certan subset of moaners slate it - it happened going back to BF3. If Im not nto something I generally dont spend time and energy on a forum trying to convince people who do like it how wrong they are.

Not trying to convince anybody, I dont like it that much and that's convinced me not to buy it, I had expectations and they werent met, for example - the vehicles are rubbish and dumbed down to oblivion, how anyone can say differently is baffling to me and this was a large part of the battlefield experience in my opinion.

EDIT - Just thought of another major issue - cheating! we all know there are already cheats out for the game and I very much doubt EA are gonna do anything more than they already have which is include a trash anti cheat program which they will not pay much attention to, which in turn means the game will be littered with cheaters to the point where it wont be worth playing, only moderated servers like before would fix this and we arent getting them by the looks of things, so yeah another reason not to buy in my opinion.

Out of interest, I've tried it on both Steam and the EA app thingy, maybe pure placebo but I swear it runs better on the EA app....

Still enjoying it but most definitely not going to rush out and buy it at launch, when it inevitably gets reduced in price having most likely had a fair few updates and refining I think it'll be a worthwhile purchase.

He's got a point, this thread if full of miserable ***** picking apart every subtle minor negative. There is a sense from some in here that they want it to flop because it didnt meet some magical unachievable nostalgic sweet spot for them.

I tried this today on Steam, I couldn’t really properly try it because I was being killed so quickly! I was lied to, I was told a 9950X3D and a 5090 would make me a gaming god.

I won't pre-order but I think I'll sign up to EA play pro for one month on release. Then if it's not a cluster maybe pick up the full game around Christmas when it's discounted.
