——The Official Battlefield 6 Thread——

I think we need a positive BF6 thread for those looking forward to it and want to enjoy the hype and a negative thread for those that just want to moan and groan and tell everyone how they are proudly going to save their precious £60 because tHe nEtC0de iS trAsH!!1 and they clearly just suck at first person shooters and can't keep up anymore.
If this was the case, we would need a positive thread and a negative thread for every game ever released because no game will be uniformly of one opinion, well, not unless the threads are only allowed to be echo chambers or a 100% rated game that everyone unanimously agrees upon is released

Ive literally only played conquest for the 2 weekends, mainly as support but started on the other classes now to knock out the challenges, engineer 3k repair points will take a while i guess :D

All in all ive loved the beta weekends, looking forward to October

I've done all the challenges and that engineer 3k one took me the longest, mostly because of tank drivers who insisted on driving off at 50mph while damaged and me not being able to keep up behind them waving a blowtorch in the air trying to repair them.

Yeah but you have to admit... so many peeps on this thread complaining about the game when we all know it's because they're getting destroyed by COD kids.

I try not to make assumptions as to the motives behind posts :)

Could be that the negative posts are due to being slapped by COD kids, could be that the negative posts are due to legitimate gripes against game mechanic X or Y, I try not to guess which it is. I try to think of what ways their dislikes can be best addressed instead. As an old boss once said to me, the best of his staff think of solutions not problems. Maybe those solutions are something EA/DICE can/should do, maybe the solutions are something the player should do. The key thing I try to take from it all is that some things are right about the game, some things are wrong about the game, thats just reality.

I was already thinking thinking this guy is a shill, now he confirms it.

Or maybe he's just enjoying the Beta, looks forward to release and wants to talk about the positives.
He's got a point, this thread if full of miserable ***** picking apart every subtle minor negative. There is a sense from some in here that they want it to flop because it didnt meet some magical unachievable nostalgic sweet spot for them.
People aren't picking it apart for the fun of it. The game was hyped up to be to second the coming of the BF franchise and unfortunately it's turn out to be more COD than BF. We dont want a flop, we want a Battlefield game with decent vehicle mechanics, decent class mechanics and decent maps. BF6 doesn't.

Yep definitely a shill. You genuinely think the only issue people have with the game is they are getting killed.....?

I'm old school BF player, started in with 42 and all the add-ons etc then it was desert combat mod full time until BFV came out, BF2, BC2, BF3, BF4 and during all that we hosted the Beer Drinkers servers. I'm 52 now, I'm doing ok still with FPS (play a lot of PUBG still) even though the pace of this is definitely faster than BF of old, but you can compensate for that by playing more intelligent and because you can do that, it does to me feel like a BF game. I think it feels very infantry focused though (I don't really mind that tbh) even on the maps with armour, they are kept almost on linear rails because of the way the maps we've seen, are set out.

I am enjoying it, probably come out of the beta having killed more than I've died but I'm definitely not a 40 kill per round kind of guy, we do a bit of running and gunning, bit of flanking ect but the most fun to be had for the older gentleman is defending a key flag. Get dug in and hold tight.

All that said though.....we need to be able to choose squad leader and there's too much **** on the hud.

Oh and auto spot, what the **** is going on there? Why is that a thing?

Nah but I reckon it's a big part of it.

Reality is that the majority are having a blast with the beta and can't wait for BF6. Look at the stats.

You talk like everyone thinks it's crap and I'm blindly defending it. Not my fault if you can't appreciate what's on offer.

This you gramps? :p

Yeah, this is really in a bad state at the moment. If I play recon I'm usually running a carbine and the 'auto-spot' still counts when I'm ADS at enemies with a regular red dot, I can end games of Conquest with 50+ assists just because of how that auto-spot is working and it just means the mini map is a live UAV of enemies most of the time.

I didn't know what was going on at first (old right?) but there's red dots everywhere. Like you say it's like a permanent UAV and it really limits the ability to sneak around. I'm not quite sure what the thought process was behind it tbh.

Been enjoying this to be honest, its not the older games but I think those days are probably gone.
It'll be an easy buy for me I think, played little else over the last couple of weekends and can easily see this getting a lot of time from me on release in October.

Full on DERP mode movement. Just as well i rarely play infantry as that **** would get irritating fast.
It does take a lot of skill and quick reactions on the part of the player to do those movements but its not what I want in my military themed shooters, I dont want players bouncing around like Tigger on LSD. There was a time, a long time ago when I'd be fine with it, perhaps I'd even partake in it but my gaming tastes have changed over the years and its not for me now. A stamina bar which drains with each jump would solve it but thats highly unlikely unless they add that as part of a "hardcore" mode or something
