But I can see it....
It’s only stealthy when it’s dark.
But I can see it....
I think the appeal is renting them to footballers and other celebrities at extortionate rates.Never understood the appeal of something like this, but I guess most of it comes down to bragging rights.
Just looks like a hotel inside...
Trust me, the people who can afford this kind of thing live a very different reality to us peasants. I worked for a multi-billionaire for two years. Not in his company, for him. Driving his cars, sorting his homes, the lot. I had a very deep insight in to how these people work, and it changes your perception on life.
To them, this is just another one of their toys.
Side note to this, I never saw that dude truly happy. Two years I worked side by side with him, and not once did I see him experience true joy.
Came in expecting this to be for a hooker for Threepwood. Mildly disappointed.
We could buy him a boat?
"Rock the **** out of those drums, Dale!"Boats and hoes?
And from radarIt’s only stealthy when it’s dark.
poseidonWhat do they do in rough seas? Can't see that dining room lasting long
I met many people from your side of the sector inspecting the work we did on the yachts.I was an underwriter for a global insurance company - marine risks. These were my bread & butter (typically for Lloyd's syndicates).
The numbers involved were ridiculous - £50k of fresh produce a week, quite often just chucked overboard if the vessel wasn't being used (the owners have them stocked & ready at all times).
250k-1M litres of diesel (at a quid per litre) to fill the tanks, then you're burning anything from 500-2.5k per hour at cruising speed.
Crew costs are high; an experienced captain can earn £15k+ a month (but annual salaries over £500k are not unheard of), similar for the heli pilots. Add a Michelin starred executive chef to the roster, then a few ex-SAS/MJK (Norwegian special forces are highly regarded) for private security, and you've got a £2-3M annual staff wage bill...
They're the ultimate willy-wave, for people who make millions between blinks of the eye.
Whilst I definitely miss the travel and the incredible locations I got to see, I don't miss the obnoxiousness or obscene wastage one bit.
A friend is a captain for the super rich for the last 30+ years... He's not a UK citizen anymore, due to living years at a time away on said yachts in international waters.I spent a decade working in the super yacht industry (from the design and build stage to retrofitting and everything in between), it really made me realise the difference between being rich and wealthy beyond imagination. It was on another level... Good fun though but pretty superficial, lots of very attractive people though!

Regarding the very attractive people, the owner (male) doesn't don't hire ugly people, they just want to be surrounded by the best of everything - be that people or what the yachts furnished with - both are replaceable objects to him!
The owner of said super yacht in question, sleeps with all the young women he hire's, and fires those who don't put out, - it's his world and his rules on that yacht. Welcome to the world of "I do what I like, because I have **** you money".
Should you dare say anything, you will never work in the industry again. These people have power like you wouldn't believe.
It is no wonder, the stuff that goes on, on these super yachts, be it drugs, orgies, sexual and physical assaults etc, you only have to search for news stories relating to mystery deaths at sea on these yachts, to find police reports/open investigations into some very suspicious stuff, and this frequently happens, only recently for example, with Martha Nolan, and no-one will ever know/prove, what really happened.
These people tend to be so heavily connected, that they always get away with it too, IF the story even gets out, which it often doesn't. Epstein was doing horrific stuff like this on land, so you imagine what messed up stuff goes on in international waters on private super yachts, when you have more money/power than god! Scary stuff.
Yep, it's another world isn't it!Yep lots of dodgy things seem to happen. And as you say they seem to get away with things. But often like all offshore activities rules get bent all the time.
I may or may not have had relationships with some of the day workers / stewardesses in the past....
Joking aside I have had some amazing trips to the Carribbean and the middle east, USA and Asia sometimes on the boat sometimes flying out to them.
The people are generally really nice and welcoming, sometimes they are massive prima Donnas.
I did get a ride in a Bugatti veyron and Paganini zonda which i would never have had a chance to.
