——The Official Battlefield 6 Thread——

So I'm a cod kid (well cod old man) top250 player on MW3 multiplayer on mouse and keyboard.
I'm not getting destroyed on BF6 by "cod kids" but my opion on the state of the game is irrelevant by your logic
Some people think the earth is flat. It's just the way it is.

Just finished a 3 hour session. Not done that for a little while. Still having a blast to be honest. Netcode felt a little worse today shotty wasn’t hitting as crisp as yesterday. Could be me tho.

Some good news for the Doomsayers

Some more comparisons on Map sizes on Reddit including the datamine/leak of the larger maps.

Looks like the actual sizes of the maps arnt really the crux of the issue. More so that clutter, scaling and what feels like deliberate channeling is what is giving the maps a smaller feel.
Really looking forward to see how Mirak Valley plays and of course Firestorm.

Maybe I'm looking at this wrong but looks to me like you can fit 3 (includeing Liberation Peak) of the BF6 maps into the playable area of Siege of Shanghai alone

And they say Battlefield is back, Couldn't be further from the Truth.

Its another one that will be lost to greed, And we know it.

Everything eventually gets ruined by these publicly traded publishers - EA's shareholders look at COD and think "we have battlefield, it's a shooter, COD is also a shooter, so why can't we have annual games like COD and make double the revenue we make now". And they do this while completely ignoring that every COD game is basically the same, while Battlefield makes significant changes in each game and has in the past had far larger maps, and all of this extra work takes time. That means things have to be cut for annual releases, if BF becomes annual like COD then it will have the same issue where every new game is basically just a map pack for the previous game

Shareholders are ebola to the gaming industry!

Bit bad that during these open tests they could literally asked a poll question at the end of rounds regarding to

"How did you rate youre last play"
"Do you feel "Blabla" is over powered" etc

That's me finished with the beta now, had some awesome games today. The M417 A2 is the only gun I'll ever need again, so it would seem, it's perfect. I bet it's broken in the release version (this is what happened to me in BC2 with the XM8).

As I've said I'm not one for racking up crazy kills but had several 20+ kills to single number death (I know it's not about KDR).

So quick pros and cons...

Pros:
Revive drag is fantastic
Sound is great
Runs really well
Destruction is fantastic
Its fun again
The M417 A2 <3

Cons
Auto spot
It's exhausting
Some maps are a bit linear
Hud clutter / lack of flag makes (for me) finding the area when close, very difficult
Initial flag proximity to HQs
Flag location too close to perimeter making flanking difficult
That motion anti tank thing is like a cheap firework, rarely goes off
Something feels weird with the netcode at times

Performance seemed to take a hit tonight servers were probably creaking a bit. I’ve played for 5 hours today and had a great time playing assault and i dabbled with a bit of recon which is a bit slept on to be honest.

They tried to do this with battlefield and medal of honor back around 2010 and it failed miserably, it was meant to be MOH one year and a Battlefield game the next. But they soon realised a Battlefield game was more complex to make and took more time than the average fps so the plug was pulled pretty quickly. The new modern combat based MOH franchise from then lasted 2 games before getting shelved for years until that ww2 vr MOH game came out a few years ago.

Battlefield games are already released in shall we say in a 'half arsed' state more often than not. Going this yearly route will be comical given that they can spend 3 or 4 years making a BF game and still release half broken.

Trying it out for the first time since BF2142 and I've had to remove all controller keybindings otherwise I'm constantly spinning left :D Good start!
I get something similar to this with BF2142 where I have to disable the XBox controller for my keyboard (Huntsman V2) otherwise it ignores the mouse and tried to treat the keyboard as a controller as well. So annoying that you can't disable the controller input in game, or disable it via the Synapse software.
