Sim racers - what are you running?

im toying with either new simagic evo 9nm with gt neo wheel or moza r9 with ks wheel, around £100 more for simagic, trying to figure out whether it much of a difference to me, very simular from what read, build quality is better on simagic side, but heard bad things about their customer service, but 2yr warranty helps

Back in the game. My last rig used to really wind me up, it used to make all kinds of creaks and noises, pedals were never to my liking and I hated the forte wheel. It all made for a rig that I couldn’t get on with and I ultimately ended up selling

Went all in this time though. I have to say, I’ve owned so many pedal sets over the years but the difference the active pedals make is just mind blowing. It’s made me so much more consistent and quicker.

Still wish I had room for triples but I just can’t make it work without the rig completely dominating the whole room

I have an 8040 rig and it creaks a bit around the seat area when I brake. I don't know how to stop it though.

defo simmagic, the GT Neo is such a good wheel for the money, although the only other wheels I have tried are the cheap Moza wheel and had a quick 30 minutes at customer's house with a simucube formula pro wheel

the only issue would be the new evo bases aren't tried and tested like the old alpha bases yet.
I have the evo pro wheel base but only had it a few months, so far so good, small issue last night with it, that was sorted with a reboot, PC has been crashing recently though so hoping it was just related to that rather than an issue with the base itself.

Yeah read about few issues and had issues ordering so backed away and picked up. R9 and grabbed a 2nd hand ks wheel at a bargain so will do me for now or few months

For me, the biggest culprit in my 3 previous profile rigs was always the seat sliders. So much so that I ended up removing them a couple of times which fixed the issue, but was a pain for obvious reasons. Thankfully, for whatever reason (or maybe because I applied a decent amount of grease first), this set of seat sliders has been fine. When I set the active pedal to a formula profile, so really stiff braking, the seat itself will make some noise if I have to brake at max pressure, but not a lot that can be done about that. For GT driving, it's not an issue

But yeah, have a look at your seat sliders. Overly tight bolts, not tight enough bolts, or even a lack of lubrication can all lead to creaking

Well I upgraded my wheel and base, I was going simagic route, but last minute I started to hear about some issues with the new 10nm sport. So backed away, instead got KS wheel from the OC store(2 bags of haribo) and R9 base

Yes, I didn't fit my seat slides for this reason.
I have sliders on my pedal plate instead

Anyone know where I can get a mouse shelf for my 8020 rig, all I can find is a plate with no upright , did find one where I bought the rig on upshift but won't ship to me strangely enough

Something like this

I've got a mouse shelf on my GT Omega Prime rig from GT Omega, it doesn't come with the leg but feels solid, it mounts to the profile.

I was looking at that but wasn't sure if fit a 8020 profile. As say's 40x40. Sort threw me.
Plus £15 postage was taking the Mick lol
it fits 8020 just look at the images. yeh £15 is steep but its £15 for anything on there site so if u want to add more to it then postage will be same, also its down from £49 to £25 so even if u paid the posatge its still kinda worth it unless you can find another one from somwhere else or even a 2nd hand one

Have just upgraded form my old Thrustmaster T500 of which non of the wheel buttons worked to a (new to me) Fanatec DD (8nm) with McLaren GT3 wheel.

Is it a worthwhile upgrade to switch the QR1 to QR2?

Nah. If you already have QR1 it's fine, not worth the cost of the upgrade. If you still have the original plastic QR lite, then absolutely.
