**** The Official Apple September Event thread - Tuesday 9th September 2025 @ 18:00 BST ****

I’ll be royally cheesed off if the bring out a max 2 so early. Just got mine last month.

Although I’d just sell and get them!!

Sorry but you’re living in cloud cuckoo land if you think prices will drop, we’ll be lucky if they stay the same as they have over the last few years!

Unrealistic but ideally making the stuff they build now cheaper… The products are mostly so good it’s only the price that I think is a little high, especially for non-base products and iPads that are basically computers. I’d actually drop those. However here’s some other ideas:
I honestly think their stuff has rarely been better value for money to be honest. The base level iPad, MacBook and maci mini for example now does pretty much everything that the average user needs and in truth will last for years and years. I think we have reached a point where most folk dont need to upgrade very often.

I find £1000+ for a decent spec phone a bit high.

Storage upgrades are silly, although maybe it helps keep base products cheaper.

I agree they are good value on the most part, especially as you say base products. Maybe I’m just getting old…

I'd like a new Apple TV, it seems like it's due a refresh.
I'm not sure what they could add to the Apple TV to make it worth upgrading for me. It runs all the streaming services I need. I wonder if tvOS 26 will bring new features that need a newer model.

You might be getting old, but the word value is not in Apples vocabulary. Mrs time to upgrade from her 13 Pro, she'd like the DEX/Pixel desktop equivalent as that has impressed her no end. I want them to make changing the battery easier prior to the 2027 regulations, but they won't just like they held out on USB- until the last possible moment.

I'd like to see a revised Studio Display.
Me too, two new ones have been rumoured from leaks.

In what way?

I'd be happy if they just added a proper stand that goes up and down like any other normal monitor, the range on the current stand is pitiful. I would pay the apple tax and even the monitor in it's current specs just to be able to use a normal monitor stand with it.

The price will go up by 50% if they do that.

Yeah it probably would for a stand too :D

Actually, I hear this a few times, what is it? What's the benefit?

Currently it transcodes audio to a lossy version.

The benefit is you can play hi-res Dolby and dts lossless audio tracks.

Now, the issue is that to get those tracks you need to lift it from 4k blue ray.

Now if I really get my hopeful goggles on, they will release 4k+ streaming ie full fat audio and a massive bitrate jump.

All rumours point to us getting a new Apple TV, new Air Tags, Air Pod Pro 3's and at some point a Studio Display with mini led and a A19 Pro chip which makes me wonder why they need such a power chip chip since the current Studio Display only has an A13 in it.

I'll be getting most of those and the new Ultra 3 watch and 17 Pro.

They sell a version that has a normal up and down stand, but it's extra, they also sell a version that has a vesa mount so you can use it with a 3rd party stand.

Thanks, understood.

I have films in my Plex library with a bitrate of up to 76597 kbps and they play through my ATV with no transcoding. You want more?

Ohh, I mean from Apple streaming. I like having my collection, but sometimes I just want to rent something instead of waiting 6 months for disk release…

I am up to date, so to speak with my Apple stuff, not the year to upgrade my iPhone yet (14 Pro so skipping until 18), new Mac Mini and MBA this year already and M1 iPad is plenty for that device. Stopped wearing my Apple watch and gone back to my mechanical for the last 4 months and don't miss it. Kinda nice actually.

It has to be something special for me to. drop some money....perhaps some new Airpods pro gen 3? May be.

I know but the stand has next to no movement in it and I shouldn't have to buy something else from a 3rd party to be able to drop my monitor down low enough.

Home(Pad)Pod with screen type setup for the kitchen would be great but unlikely in a September event. Not necessarily looking for a phone or watch upgrade this year
