Great post :)

Just gaming in general was better back then. We get mostly dumbed down slop nowadays. Felt like devs gave gamers a bit of credit but now we all treated like idiots to appeal to the masses :-(

Yup, you don't even get mods like desert combat these days, some of those devs went on to work on battlefield 2. They lock down the game engines and then claim you need all these third party rights to do this or that, which is just a copout as a lot of the mods were better than the things the studios were putting out.

Really all we have on pc now is the graphics and control advantage over consoles, total conversion mods for games like battlefield went by the wayside years ago.

Going off pure visual comparison with the BF4 map. The main difference is the closer spawn locations and a little trimming of the playable areas in the hills. The buildings/structures appear to be scaled similarly. We'll clearly have to wait and see but I'm somewhat sceptical of the claims. Maybe a bit wishful thinking but we'll see.

Hopefully they get on top of the cheating problem in BF6. This guy joined, started rage hacking and the entire server started rubber banding. New user too! ( No revives , no captured flags good team player ;) )

Redacted ( no vehicles )

I'm calling it now, it will be overwhelmed with cheaters rendering it not worth playing within days/weeks! ;)

No Ray Tracing for BF6. DICE says decision not to support RT is to make sure the game can run on more systems, EA's target for BF6 is a large player base so the game needs to run on everything.

DICE also said based on their data, a large portion of beta players have PCs that are lower than the minimum system requirements and DICE is happy to accommodate them.

In other words, NVidia didn't bung them a few quid to include it. :p

To be fair I play Battlefield games with a mixture of mostly low, with the odd high or ultra setting, to get the best visibility and frame rate - I kind of wish they enforced higher settings in some ways though as the engine can look really good in action but you kind of put yourself at a disadvantage having things looking too nice.

Tired of being a poor sniper? Fed up of being outsniped by higher skilled players? Can't be arsed to learn how to do it properly? Don't worry BF6 has your back....just hold down B

Not sure how I feel about that. Auto setting elevation hold seems a little too much. I'm not a sniper user however I think it should still require manually setting elevation. I've no issue with the range finder telling you how far the shot is though.

Meh - I really enjoy just winging shots in BF4 sniping, auto ranging is just cheap.

EDIT: Though by far this is my favourite of my long range shooting in BF4 and it isn't even with a sniper rifle LOL
