This has been really noticeable. Been eating meat again since 2022, and first diced beef got too expensive for stir fry. Then mince got really expensive and now budget steaks have been taken out of Morrisons' 3 for £10 deal, and the same packs gone up to £5.50. This is standard own brand steaks but they were more than passable TBF.Beef is one of the things contributing hugely to the current food inflation numbers, it’s short up in price over the last year.
Have you seen the price of even low grade beef like mince these days?
What have you replaced it with out of interest?Yup, gound beef used to be cheap protien, its generally off our menu now, as much as I like it, steak has been off the menu for awhile.
Nothing really, we just dont make recipies that require beef. We probably only eat meat on 50% of meals anyway so its not a huge loss. What have you replaced it with out of interest?
