errmm.... why do you think? lol
Point taken, but my own point was that it's clearly not helping in this situation, so why bother at all?errmm.... why do you think? lol
Phison dedicated over 4,500 cumulative testing hours to the drives reported as potentially impacted and conducted more than 2,200 test cycles. We were unable to reproduce the reported issue, and no partners or customers have reported that the issue affected their drives at this time.
The Jayz video, was purely explaining an article off of a tech website, he didn't make the claim, he simply shared it to help people.Seems to be a bit of an issue with 'tech' youtube-ers sensationalising things recently.
gotta get them clicks and views I guess.
I guess we'll never knowI wonder what the issue was then for the website that claimed to replicate the issue
I mean, would they even admit it if it did?![]()
Microsoft says recent Windows update didn't kill your SSD
Microsoft has found no link between the August 2025 KB5063878 security update and customer reports of failure and data corruption issues affecting solid-state drives (SSDs) and hard disk drives (HDDs).www.bleepingcomputer.com
As much as i like Jay's more entertaining, off the wall, videos i do find him frustrating at times due to how he gets things wrong sometimes or misses things that seem obvious to me.
This isn't a hate on Jay thing as like i said i find his more zany videos fun, however he says in the video that it's an entirely different problem but I'm pretty sure it's not as PresentMon would be logging a bucket ton of data so he is writing large amounts of data. One of the other things is he says some MoBo vendors do a soft/hard reset without seemingly knowing that that's a BIOS setting and vendors choose a default. Then the last on my list of frustrations is how he didn't give any details on what the stop code was or even look in event viewer to get some more details on what was happening just before the crash.
For sure and i can't fault him for that as i would describe him as someone who opens his mouth before he thinks, it's good to have people like because they bring attention to things. But regardless, there is an issue, at least he's addressing it to make people aware, versus waiting till it's too late - I can't fault him on that.
I'm in total agreement with everything that you've just said mateFor sure and i can't fault him for that as i would describe him as someone who opens his mouth before he thinks, it's good to have people like because they bring attention to things.
We need the likes of him just as much as we need the Steve's from GN, like i said though it can be frustrating sometime when he gets things wrong but that's the price you pay for fast vs thorough.
Frustrating is the word first he posts a video saying why didn't I try Bazzite before its great then posts a follow up saying the experience has been less than great and showing a screen when it fails to boot... dude you put linux and windows on the same drive, windows update has ****** over the bootloader because it doesn't care about linux either repair it or put them on separate drives or even machines surely you have the money for more than one. I mean this is just basic computer 1-2-3As much as i like Jay's more entertaining, off the wall, videos i do find him frustrating at times due to how he gets things wrong sometimes or misses things that seem obvious to me.
