——The Official Battlefield 6 Thread——

think it was a known issue when running BF6 from epic launcher with epic overlay disabled
No Ray Tracing for BF6. DICE says decision not to support RT is to make sure the game can run on more systems, EA's target for BF6 is a large player base so the game needs to run on everything.
RT in BF V left a sour taste. Half framerate for some raytraced reflections you can't spot even when looking for it.
RT doesn't make sense in a multiplayer shooter

unless a proper server browser is added no sale. saying they going to do it watch em put it in portal which isnt what people want.

But I have a brand new pc and the game ran like ass. (100% cpu)
I don’t think the game ran like ass… I was surprised how well it ran for a beta it felt pretty slick, high cpu usage or not…

For me it was missing a server browser and limiting squads to only 4 is a annoying with groups of mates

They have already confirmed this is the case and explained why. Its not the ideal solution by any means but its a small step in the right direction. I long for the days of dedicated servers and the communities it built up around them. Alas I fear that time has passed and I dont see it returning any time soon.
At least they have confirmed Server persistance, so if you like a certain server for its map rotation/game mode/custom setup etc etc you are supposed to be able to bookmark it. We'll see, I'm as ever dubious on how well this will be implemented and if they actually deliver what they say they will. My fear is that this implementation will lead to a lot of persistant empty servers as people wont use portal mode and just play through the standard menu.

They have demonstrated the Portal server browser already. It looks functional!

Yeah agreed, my old 9600x was pegged at 100% but it never stuttered. It was however holding my GPU back so I've upgraded to a 9800x3d.
Now I just need to get into the labs to test it lol

I enjoyed the beta and was surprised at how well it ran on my system but I won't be pre-ordering until there have been a few patches and I've seen a few reviews. I got burned hard by 2042 ( 2 x £75 preorders and both crashed for about a week on launch) so won't be giving them any money.

I also got burned by 2042 but the beta of this was better than 2042 at launch

I swore I would never preorder again after Forza Motorsport.

That said if BF6 were to release in the same state as the Beta I wouldn't be angry or disappointed. I thought it was pretty well polished, yes there were things I'd like to have seen amended. However I'd have taken it in that state with the prospect of future updates/balance tweeks.

Pre ordering Battlefield games just lol
Pre-ordering any game is pretty much a pointless endeavour these days, unless preorder bonuses are really that important to people. Even then majority of the time you can still get the bonuses from buying from key sites on or around release if not even further down the line.

It is largely a pointless endeavour these days but my amusement comes from the battlefields disastrous launches and yet people still pre order like lemmings..

Not sure how I feel about that. Auto setting elevation hold seems a little too much. I'm not a sniper user however I think it should still require manually setting elevation. I've no issue with the range finder telling you how far the shot is though.
I think Jack in the video sums it up pretty well. It takes away any skill progression and satisfaction you get when landing a sniper shot. Hopefully it gets changed for release to just telling you the range

I’ve never preordered a game in my life. But even im tempted.
It would have to have had a significantly early access to even tempt me. I'm quite happy to wait till release as it is.
Were a couple of weeks on from the beta and I'm still trying to find something to fill the gap. Just started playing Uncharted 4. Dosnt scratch the FPS itch but its pretty solid game so far. Very impressed seeing as its my first Uncharted game (Not had a PlayStation guy since PS2).
