Ebike Sale...

They upped the price on the e3 voya.. right after I ordered it.

Usually, it is the complete opposite for me
I buy something and then it drops in price.

Well let me first start off by saying it looks like a lovely bike in the red/orange

I have just set and charged it up but yet to rideHopefully tomorrow. Yer i know
Patience…

Awesome stuff. One of my annoyances is how long ebikes take to charge! Especially the DIY hailong batteries. Unsure if retail options are better

Ooh are you being a naughty boy :)
Be careful, I know quite a few people who have had their 1000 watts seized.
I converted for 1 month and realised I didn't need it.

I think mine is only 500w (albeit still over the limit).

I do sometimes wish i'd gone with 36v. Like you i don't really need the extra power and it adds a decent chunk of weight for both the motor and the battery. My main reasoning was that the 36v models all seemed to be older models and all the developments were on the 48v versions. The Tongsheng TSDZ2 Again, probably something which wouldn't be an issue but i do wish the likes of Bafang/Tongsheng put more effort into the lower output models

What made my mind up was that in that month I'd run out of battery three times where I'd have loads left with 36v.
In the three places the battery ran out I was in front of a steep bank and because of people all around I didn't want to push it up :)
By the time I pedalled up with a very heavy bike I was ready to die.
I then realised I didn't need to do 30mph anywhere and 15mph is ample.

Yeah same here. Mine is mainly for support on stupidly hilly rocky, technical terrain. I find i end up with traction issues when i stand up and lose weight over the rear wheel, i can then often need >500w to get up the hill and i'm not strong enough to sustain that for more than 5 minutes!

Bosch do 36v 4amps or a 6amp one, I'd imagine the slower charge is better for battery health, cells will get less hot when charging etc.

My 750wh battery takes about 5hours to charge with the normal 4amp, but 750wh battery with my bike 27kg+me 102kg gets me about 30-40miles in emtb/turbo or 60miles in eco mode.

or it did when it was capped at 15mph anyway, probably sightly less now my bikes "in the USA" and caps at 20mph

more powers always better im using a 750w bafang and 17.5ah battery (840wh) , biggest ride i done so far is 47 miles and 4500ft elevation most of the hills a 250w motor jus wouldnt cut it for me

Just be careful, a lot more Police are getting wise to bigger motors.
A mate of mine is Head of Security at a Juvenile Prison which is at the top of a very long and steep bank (Ash Bank) and he was being followed by Coppers who were going to the prison and pulled him over.
They called a van who confiscated his £3000 bike.
Here's the funny bit, they were on the way to his department.

Any remnants of the power rating long gone from the motor, 250w stickers installed, throttles coming off as i never use it + i can set it back to legal speeds by presing 2 buttons ;).
I tend to stay off roads as much as possible, 90% of my riding is up on the south downs away from people lol

You really think the Police can be fooled by stickers, maybe a few years ago :)
If they see you going up a very steep bank at a speed a normal 250 watt can't do, which my mate Jez was doing, they are going to notice it.
All I'm saying is be careful, I've been pulled over 3 times on a legal bike.

they got a few up here recently, I guess this had a throttle and they lifted the back wheel off the ground....

people were taking extracting the urine in the facebook comments, but no doubt they'll be sentenced as if it could reach 80mph on a road.

although they claim he was hitting speeds of 35mph, which to me on a bicycle is scary as hell, done it a few times down big hills in the countryside.
Can't imagine doing it on any road where cats, dogs, people could walk out of nowhere...

even on shared paths I feel kinda worried going 20mph incase someone has an offload dog that runs out from behind some trees or bushes.

I hate braking hard on my bike, the suspension dips so hard, the brakes can grab the discs as soon as it hits 6mph and it just comes to a complete full stop.
pedals like 1ft off the ground, there's no leaning sideways only jumping forwards off the seat, it can be easy to slow fall off when the momentum stops and look a tit.
Never actually done it, but came close a few times with some kinda weird pogo hop on my leg to stop me falling over when I put a foot down, due to the momentum of me instantly stopping from 6mph and wanting to keep travelling forward still.

I see other people going crazy fast past dog walkers etc and people with push chairs from behind :S only takes one wrong step and you could kill someone.

We all been on those shared scenic cycle paths. and had bees etc whack us in the face right? one could easily fly along the path , someone steps sideways to avoid it and gets hit from behind at 20mph...
people just aren;t smart enough to think of all the possible dangers and ride oblivious or what?

people are often visibly scared from the speed and not realising a bike was coming as well :S
