Show Us Your Motors!

Love it, I would quite like one of those to run about in.

But as it is, the Austin costs £9 a month to insure and the tax is free, so its hard to justify going back to a modern car for the runabout. :p
thank you

its cost £154 a year insured as my 2nd car and tax is £20 a year so not much difference :)

Cool little cars.

I bet that’s much better on fuel though! Terrible man maths there @Akagi

Kind of but also not entirely because that Mii would cost me £360 a year to insure and tax, vs £108. :p

The Austin gets about 35mpg running around the lanes. I don't think I'd get a huge amount better in a Mii, maybe 8 - 10mpg more, but I would also be going a fair bit faster admittedly. :D

And the Mii would likely cost significantly less in maintenance, seen as it isn't a rolling restoration.

Honestly though, the main thing I love about it is not having to remember and stress about MOT time. I can MOT it if I want to, but it isn't something which is looming. I find that kind of thing stressful because I am disorganised.

Well it's taken since February 2024 when i crashed it to finally get it back home

Having been sat outside the mechanics in the sun and under trees for such a long time, it needs a really good clean, both inside and out. I spent around 5 mins washing my hands after driving it home because of how grubby the steering wheel was.

Have got the paint to do the arch/bonnet/grille. So will be interesting to see how i get on with that. It ideally needs a full respray but with moving house i can't justify it.

Spent today cleaning and prepping car ready for our EU trip next week through France, Switzerland and Italy:

Going to be an epic two weeks of driving some of very best roads in Europe in the 600 LT. Huge petrol bill and amazing food and incredible hotels. :)

Enjoy, had mine since January and loved every minute :D
Nice, my only irritation right now is the refusal to remember speed limit warning off, might ask the dealer if it can be coded as default on is annoying. Have set the star on the wheel to hit the screen to turn it off but it’s still annoying. Epic to drive though :)

EU reg unfortunately and I don’t think they’ll change it via coding.

I know but we aren’t EU ;)

I wouldn’t care but cars get them totally wrong where I am and honestly flashing at you for going 31 is overkill. That’s the only thing really it’s just annoying you can save almost anything on profile but not this. Aside from that daily few presses the things ace.

Edit: I see it’s adopted UK law since July 24 sadly…

New EV, joined the dark side leaving my nice sounding petrol history behind but I have to say it’s insane fun to drive. I chose it for that reason trying to keep some fun, IONIQ 5N enjoying the Welsh roads recently:

The only EV, I'd consider. Did a Taxi ride in one at the Nurburgring, and it was ridiculous!

On my 2025 Santa Fe, if you press & hold the volume scroll button (right side of the steering wheel), it turns the speed limit warning chime off, rather than setting it via Vehicle settings in the main menu.

It bugs the hell out of me that I have to do at every start (along with Driver Attention Warning & setting the Dynamic Regenerative Braking to on), but that's the state of "Driver Convenience" today, sadly.

Turns the chime off but still flashing in HUD… You can assign the star to almost the exact place so it’s quicker to get it off.

The 5N is so cool. Love it.

It really is for an EV!
