Lost my **** this afternoon. Standing at front of traffic, the light goes green so I pull off, and the car to my right decides he's not going to let me get away, and puts his foot down, eventually hitting me. I didn't see this coming and I wasn't riding like a dick either, so I was caught completely off guard. When I asked him what he was doing he said something about me pushing in, so I put my bike on its side stand in front of his car, walked up to his window and gave him both barrels. Had it been a mistake, I'd have shrugged it off and that'd be the end of it, but he decided to double down and I lost it. His family were in the car too, his wife sat next to him looking terrified. I apologised to her that she had to see this and told her that her husband is one of the reasons bikers end up in boxes and she cringed from embarassment.
The best part was there was a coppper, at the same light, on the other side of the road. He watched it all unfold and didn't even say a word.
I can count on one hand the amount of times I've properly lost my cool in my life, never mind whilst riding, and this was one of them. There's just absolutely no need for it. Had he waited literally one or two seconds, I would've filtered through traffic and been off in to the sunset, but this guy decided he wanted to be a dick about it.
What
really ****** me off is that I've had a few of these, but usually from lack of awareness of inattentive people. I will then say calmly to please pay attention more as they could put me in an ambulance, and every time it's been well received, but this guy really pushed the wrong button, so all I've done is contributed to the "bikers are aggressive arse holes" stereotype
