PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

Hey guys i havent played PUBG in years.
Initially when it arrived i played it maybe 30 hours total but i never really clicked with the BR genre as a whole but i have dipped my toes in them all at this stage and PUBG gunplay always felt the best to me with Apex Legends pretty good also but the more realistic setting of PUBG too is to my preference.
Im noticing an increase in players playing on my steam friends list so it got me curious as to what the game is like now in 2025?
Am i wasting my time if im not into the genre in general?

It's just hard, is all I'll say.

You'll be playing against mostly very experienced players, so you need to appreciate your probably going to get absolutely trashed and think everyone is cheating.

It also sucks playing with randoms, but until you build up some people to play with you don't have a lot of choice

Otherwise it's great, I got 3500 hours now, mostly while at work lol.

Absolutely criminal that this guy is allowed to play in EU servers. He is wrecking solo lobbies by winning one in three matches with a KDR of 12 plus.

Here is killing me, couldn't be a more obvious radar hacker. I and many others have reported but he plays on.

Looooooool.

I know though....... I was playing ranked the other day with randoms, I got 3 kills guy on my team had 12.

I was on his ass the whole game, and throughout the game he was like guys here etc, in his Turkish accent or whatever, and no way he could have known where those people were.

Yep, Turks, Cypriots and Greeks have an insanely high amount of cheaters.

I have always found duos OK, but the last week I have been dipping into solos and squads and it's been.....eye opening.

So PUBG have this new branding thing, but like the Bugatti car or whatever weird **** they are featuring and being sponsored by.

I'm not sure what this branding relates to , whether it's done famous gamer or whatever.

But to quote wiki :

The term Übermensch was used frequently by Hitler and the Nazi regime to describe their idea of a biologically superior Aryan or Germanic master race;[16] a racial version of Nietzsche's Übermensch became a philosophical foundation for Nazi ideas.[17][18] The Nazi notion of the master race also spawned the idea of "inferior humans" (Untermenschen) who should be dominated and enslaved;

It's really not a big deal.

I have like 980 contrabrand coupons - can I actually use them for anything without buying something first? I googled this and it suggests going into Hideout I can open Contrabrand crates but for the life of me I cant find any. Then again I find the whole Hideout / Workshop UI a right PITA to navigate at the best of times.

Yes the UI is awful.

Yes you can go into your hideout, and exchange them for crates.

The crates mostly have weapon skins.

980 is a lot, if you look there are 4 "star prizes" you can win, which off the top of my head is a progressive AR skin (can't remember which, Aug I think?) progressive Shotgun, coloured smoke launcher and 1 other thing I cannot remember.

They rotate these things around every now and then so if you don't like any of that stuff save them.

The coloured smoke launcher is nice I suppose.

If you get a progressive skin there is then a rabbit hole you can go down to"upgrade" it.

It's all just cosmetic bullshizzle though, I don't pay much attention to it either it's all Korean styled and weird.

Thanks. I was confusing myself as the AUG appears to be only G-coin. AK I never use. I got the smoke gun and a scorched shotgun - but the shottie seems like I have to buy the initial weapon before I can get that skin. I wouldnt pay anything but just wanted to use the free stuff up whilsts its there.

Yes use cannot use the contraband token for the Aug. You can use gcoin or they are giving away this other type of token you get.

And it's a Ace not an AK, but I had to look as I couldn't remember.

i never use them myself, have way over 2000 coupons, maybe i should look into using them.

I mean it's just cosmetic BS, I wouldn't loose any sleep over it.

Use them or lose them I guess. I've got quite a few nice new skins now but its annoying that there is no filter option for duplicates so you easily know which to salvage/spare.
