Im still on a 3080...

With the sale of your 3080 you can get a 5080 for less than £800 which tbh isn't too bad when you consider you Paid nearly £700 for the 3080 on release.

I'm also running a 3080 10gb, it's been a beast of a card tbh, only now am I starting to feel the limitations of the memory.
Im trying to think back to when I started pc gaming (Fermi) and as you have eluded to - a near 5 year old card (3080) is just starting to show its age and in fairness to it I imagine it still has enough grunt if one manages their expectations…. I stand to be corrected, but I don’t remember GPUs back in the day (think last 320bit card GTX 570) had the same effect, IE, Could a GTX 570 play the latest games reasonably well 5 years after release? Whereas the 3080 can still crush 1080p and manage 1440p very well…checking reviews as well, a Flaship card in 2015 was approx. 4.5x faster (Titan X vs 570) whereas a 5090 today vs the 3080 is roughly 2.5x faster.. I do believe GPUs are lasting much longer than they used too…

I'm still on a 1080ti, pretty sure nvidia messed up giving this thing 11GB of VRAM.

I think if it magically got DLSS I'd be put off upgrading.

The biggest issue with the 1080ti is needing workarounds for games which artificially enforce DX12 ultimate requirements (FF7 Rebirth did it, but can be played on the card with some modding), or worse games that have a hard requirement for Ray-Tracing such as the latest Doom.

It's otherwise still a very competent GPU.

The jump I had from the 6800 XT (roughly comparable to a 3080) to my current 5080 was considerable and I can definitely notice the difference in IQ and performance, but I paid a pretty penny for it.

The 9070 XT achieves most of that uplift, but if the 50x0 Super's ETA is coming soon then it's probably worth waiting to see what that brings to the table. Even if you don't opt for one prices should have come down somewhat for the XT and other currently available cards.

I could've stuck with the 3080 if I was using a 1440p display and was fine bumping into vram limits sometimes but I went 9070XT when it launched. Been happy with it, all the numbers go up a bit so all is good.

If it were now, I could see myself grabbing the 5070ti or the 5080 since prices are less crazy. Then again something is always around the corner and this time it's the potential Super cards.

I’m back with my Evga 3080, I did upgrade to a 9070xt which did give a nice performance increase but I got stutter in the main game I play and I never managed to solve it. Sold to cex for a small loss in the end

Still on a launch 3080 here, it’s ridiculously overpowered for my needs. Maxes out my 3k monitor at 140fps with plenty spare for the only game I play Il-2 sturmovik.

It does run hot though, needs repasting and will need replacing for GTA6 next year!!

Still on my Zotac 3080 which I got on launch. Just in the process of upgrading my 5900x to 7800X3D, and getting itchy for graphics now. Don't know why, I'm only playing CS2 :/ Will prob wait until the new year unless some offers come out.

Upgrade compulsion is real! I recently upgraded to a 7800X3D and am also thinking about grabbing a RTX5080 now and I barely play any games on the PC lol!

Got my EVGA 3080, playing at 3440x1440. I keep thinking about moving to the 9070xt but the 3080s playing all my games as needed currently. i think il be waiting for next refreash and upgrading then and upgrading from a 7600x to the newer AM5 cpus to maximize the differnce.

I paid £660 for my 9070XT Steel Legend and sold my 3080 10Gb for £300. The same 9070XT is now £620, however the cheapest is £579. This ties in with a drop of around £50 in value for the 3080. For £250 a 3080 represents great value foe even 3440x1440p Ultrawide gamers. You can then get your 9070XT for a total outlay of £340 or so. To me, for the performance, that's a great upgrade.

3080, hold my beer! still on a GTX 1080, probably could replace it with a pocket calulator soon and it would be an upgrade.

But yes probably going to get a 5080 Super, been holding off for years.

I'm in the same boat! Still rocking a GTX1080 and really should've upgraded sooner :D
