i dont know whats more fun reading the threads on the steam forum about annoyed 4060 owners or playing the actual game lol

Lots of crashes on AMD CPUs, but those are in gameplay. The Intel crashes seem to be during shader compilation. That's always been the big trigger for the silicon degradation issue.

I'm seeing loads of reports of both i.e. here is one where they struggle to get past shader compilation with a 9950X https://steamcommunity.com/app/1285190/discussions/0/673972930559877809/ and people who can get into the game fine with a 14900K but then sporadically crash when playing, etc.

I'm currently enjoying some cozy purple wokeness with Dragons Age The Veilguard but want to pick this up after. Only if my rig can run it how I want it though.

Will a 3090 /12700k run this with 4k DLSS performance at 60 and with max settings? If not I'll wait until 5080ti.

Btw those still using DLSS Quality mode at 4k, you're chucking frames in the bin. Install the latest DLSS version and use performance mode; it's incredibly good. Absolutely no point in using anything else at 4k imo.

This game is very cpu intensive. It’s the first game that gives my 5800x3d a good work out. Even more than space marine 2.

We played for 3 hours last night without issue, performance was good enough for me at 4k, Went with Amon but not sure if I want to stick with him or go with another hunter

Same. Played for just over 5 hours ... shader compilation went smoothly, no in game crashes or performance related issues. I went with Vex ; going down the path that allows her to use "Trouble" as an eldritch bomb.

Likewise! I didnt feel any particular draw to the other characters. Shoulder cannons are actually pretty helpful in larger battles.

Zero crashes for me on my AMD 5950X, as other have said this is the first game I've played were I've seen such a load on the CPU, multiple cores pushing 40-50% and the CPU maxed out when shader compilation occurs, but those seem infrequent and short. Otherwise performance seems okay on the 4090, 110FPS in DLSS Native @ 1440P, I'll probably drop it to balanced/quality when I next get on to have a play.

I admit to not following this too closely after really not liking BL3 at all.
Does this have an Endgame this time round?

Haven't reached a point far enough in to the game to provide a comprehensive answer, but would highlight the devs have already released a road map of future content / live service elements that presumably will constitute a big part of the endgame. For example, there are already world bosses that you can try to defeat with others.
