Borderlands 4 (2025)

Your grapple was on Y? Mines been on V since the beginning and I havent changed it?

You mention mouse response was excellent , what FG did you have it on out of curiosity, you mention you had it on but not whether it was x2,x3 or x4
Whoops V yes, I was meant to say healing is Y and grapple/melee is V, either way they are odd keys to set both actions to I find.

FG was at 2x when I did use it, it felt fine but you could 100% tell there was some latency, but it was low enough that it's the kind that you'd quickly get used to. I just left FG off after testing it as the game is super snappy with it off even when in the 60+ fps range.

Have you changed your keybinds, heal should be on T by default

It's possible, I was making mental notes whilst cycling all the menus and things. Even if it was T, that's still odd to me, F/Q/E etc all surround WASD and are more logical.

Fiddled with my settings some more and happy with the results now.

Caved and got it from CDkeys for £45.99 (used USA location), just hope it's worth it!
To save any fannying around or back reading, what's any decent setting for 5090/9800X3D?

Just max everything out (apart from motion blur).

Well I am just loving this, gunplay is great, mechanics are great, did some of those horde style challenges and one of those dome bosses , balance was really good on Hard. Loving the graphics, especially the aesthetic details inside some of the buildings, only just got to having the first vehicle, as we've have been doing all side missions and bounties, but loving it. SO much better than BL3 and right there alongside BL2 imo. Co-op is working great too. Did another 5 hours tonight and am planning on another 15 hours over the course of the weekend :)

BL3 and that pre-sequel thing could have been left on the drawing board for all I care. Didnt do anything good for the brand IMO, they wernt terrible but were cringey and a chore to play. Still grinded through them mind.
This though feels like a return to form akin to BL2. As you say the Gunplay is great, incredibly satisfying, especially crits, I'll never tire of blowing heads/limbs apart!!! Campaign so far is engaging. I'll criticise it in a sense that the open world stuff is a little overwhelming. I dont know if I should graft through the side missions and explore or let the natural course of the main story take over. I've been doing more of the former than the latter so far but I dont know if I'm ruining later game experience by exploring the world first.

Managed to put about 4 hours in tonight.

Performance is not as bad as I was expecting. Not great by any means but managing a decent framerate without frame gen on a 9070xt @ 1440p so it'll do. Tends to be 80 - 110 FPS when I look. That's with DLS on balanced.

Having fun so far. Already managed to put more hours than I did with BL3 lol

EDIT - no crashes either in a 4 hour session, despite my CPU overclock being... ambitious and almost certainly not actually 100% stable.
