ive just upgraded my GPU and something doesnt feel right

The 3D Mark score is alright, but a little lower than I'd expect.

Can't see any other obvious issues, but your CPU's power usage is low, assuming you were running the sensor during gaming load?

Can you run Cinebench?

I wonder how much your ram might be holding you back. 3200Mhz CL22 seems slow.
Everything else looks ok. CPU might be considered to be a touch on the warm side considering the low usage but it's far from throttling so nothing to worry about.

Maybe the cooler on the CPU is not adequate?

Is Cinebench like Cinnabon? Run cinebench while running a specific game? I have a wide selection.

I have took the glass panel off the side of my case and replaced it with the mesh one to see if that helps a wee bit with the cooling, but maybe getting a decent cpu cooler to help with the cooling down of the CPU?

I can't tell. Were you running anything demanding like a game alongside the hwinfo sensor tab?

No, Cinebench is like 3D Mark, but for CPUs. Don't run it with anything else.

I just want to check your CPU is performing normally.

Have you only just received the card? you could potentially try to return it?

Under distance selling etc. It wasnt what you expected (eg assumed a big uplift, got only 10 fps)

Sounds like you got sold down the river by nvidia's bullshizzle.

My comment on CPU temp was based on this 3DMark graph. During the graphics test his CPU usage was sitting in the 10~20% area with temperatures in the high 70s or low 80s.
Boost clocks all seems where they should be so I really don't think cooling is an issue, but only a gaming session with HWInfo running in the background would really answer that question.

This is the results of the run of Cinebench test
They're not terrible, but they do seem low.

This review includes some numbers:

What power usage and temperatures did your CPU reach while running the tests?

A few pics of Single and Multi test running, with HWInfo in the background hopefully showing the correct info

Do these power and test images appear ok?
The power numbers were cropped from your screenshots, so I couldn't see them. It does note that the power limit was reached, though that's not necessarily a problem.

What is PL1/PL2 according to hwinfo?

What is the rest of your PC spec?

5-10 fps from what? 30? 100?

Have you run something like hwinfo to check temps and power usage?

Yup, keep in mind that frame rates are a non linear measurement of performance, if your new video card gives you from 30fps to 40fps in one game (+10fps more) that's the same performance improvement from 100fps to 133fps (+33fps more)

+10fps may not be bad at all, depending on your circumstance. That doesn't necessarily mean all is well, I would double check on the games you're comparing, are the settings the same or has the game auto detected new hardware and cranked them up, same goes for any of external app like the Nvidia one. You have to be comparing apples to apples before and after the upgrade.

Though it usually only really affects the 8GB cards. You are running an X8 card on PCIE 4.0 Motherboard. 5060TI is a PCIE 5.0 card and there are reports of a 10% performance loss when using them in PCIE 4.0 boards. Though again, that's more on the 8GB cards. The 16GB cards are less affected.

Personally I would return the card and grab an old 3080 for £250 if you want to play above 1080p. Whilst it has less VRAM It actually has the grunt to smash the 5060 in 1440p. (Which is exactly what I did).

I'm on a pcie 4 and i was planning on upgrading my 3070 FE to 5070 Ti, will I get a performance loss not being on pcie 5? sorry, unsure how that works just wanted to double check.

Slightly, but not an amount worth worrying about. 4.0 will be fine, especially if you have a decent rest of the system.

yeah i'm in a position where i don't think investing into a new mobo is worth it i think.

5800x
3070 FE (soon to be 5070 Ti)
32gb
MSI Tomahawk
2560x1440 165hz display

When I can afford it I will replace mobo and cpu at the same time. i'm just gonna have to deal with the cpu bottleneck until i win the lottery :(
