Quest 3 owners etc

The first prescription lenses I had for the Rift CV1 were basically like frameless spectacles that mounted in front of the lenses so you could have something like that. After all my real-life glasses don't have a wide FOV. I just have to look past the edges.

180 FOV would be great but still need decent content though, I can't remember the last time I used my q3 and when I did, I was using UEVR mod as there is no decent content

There's plenty of decent content. Finding it is the issue, due to the way Meta organise their store.

Woohoo! another lander for the Quest -

VR lander coming to PC

I'll be updating when I get home then, its getting annoying firing the headset up at 8 and then having to mess about with updates..

Mines on v81, no problems up to now. Haven't actually noticed it update tbh, I think because I leave it on standby it just does it overnight or something.

Using the PTC with the combination of a Quest headset and Meta, is indeed most intrepid..!
It is akin to using an Alpha BIOS on a most expensive motherboard, with no backup BIOS on board, and a lack of meaningful support.

I salute you.

Another update to V79, from a point release 520 to 1031.
Not sure of the incremental changes.
Then again I'm just relieved that the headset still works, bar set kinda low here.

If it's any consolation, meta aren't sure of the incremental changes either. I'm on v81 1033, and got an update to 1031. It updated after a restart to....... 1033????

Yup, if you scroll enough times you will see my posts in that thread you quoted, with the same issues noted.

That is part reason as to why the bar that I set is largely based on the update actually applying, the headset booting and working.

Any meaningful and desirable improvements would be considered both miraculous and totally unexpected.

One of the updates seems to have fixed the annoying USB connection/disconnection sound.

I often play wireless but for the important races (I'm a sim racer 99% of the time) I prefer to use wired. Previously, if I left my headset plugged in, I'd continuously get a USB connect/disconnect sound. Very annoying as I'd have to try to remember to unplug the headset from the back of my PC after use. Now I just get a couple soon after my PC has booted.
Can't see anything in the release notes but it's nice :)

There was mention of it in the meta forum that a recent update had cured it. Users are still searchhing for the two features that this same update broke.

With mine, when the headset was in use, it was perfect. Only when it was turned off but still plugged into my pc would it keep making the connect/disconnect sound.

Has anyone tried the recently released Hyperscape capture app. It does a really good job of capturing the detail if you do a thorough scan. I found I had to have the headset active for it to upload to meta's servers for processing and data grabbage.

i mean.. my BPs not high enough to sure why not, i need to get the blood pumping.. lets bring wok home..
it looks cool, and for memories and things good, but i dont know enough about it and using it at moment.

Yea the Hyperscape capture is nuts looking. Haven't tried it yet but will report back when I do.
