tbh a lot of these testers just throw up standard faults that may or may not be there. i had snap on/bosch/and launch to name a few and often got different faults on same vehicle , if it drives ok and doesn't flag a warning light as others have said just drive it . it will soon tell you if it needs attention....bit like the wife
I'm sure it will tell me 12 months after I purchased the car and the Warrenty finished. Knowing my luck

ISTA works on the F series for sure. It is the only software that should be trusted with a high degree of certainty, in my opinion. The likes of Carly and BimmerLink often get things wrong when it comes to reading fault codes or warnings. They are just reverse engineered products after all.
You can get some faults that, whilst they don't throw up an error on iDrive or the instrument cluster, they are in fact there. The AUC sensor failing is a great example of this (controls the automatic recirculation function) - it throws no code on the dash but shows up in ISTA. The washer heaters is also another example of this.
Still, that said, there's no reason to scan a car and panic when it doesn't have any meaningful errors or warnings showing. I completely agree.

Usually does this when in places with no normal speed limit signs/location that doesn't have a speed limit set on the map data (car parks etc).
Additionally, a quick google:
If your BMW's iDrive system is showing "LIMIT" instead of the actual speed limit, it likely means the Speed Limit Info system is on but not detecting a limit. To resolve this, update your navigation maps, perform a soft iDrive reset (hold the volume knob for 20-30 seconds until the screen restarts), and check your iDrive settings for Driver Assistance > Driving > Speed Limit Assist to ensure it's set to display current speed limits or anticipation, not turned off
Thank you! It seems to have thankfully resolved itself. Not seen that happen before (I was a bit worried). I did have software update yesterday so perhaps just a glitch. I've just returned home and on starting the car for the return journey, it disappeared.
ISTA works all the way up to the G8X, latest Rolls Royce, Mini
Zero issues with anything before it, if you have a legit version, mind.
Obviously if you've got some out of date hooky version, YMMV
The proper version with all the global databases is around 750GB.

Well the BMW has gone! A really, really good car, but just not a convertible. Would have loved to keep it as a daily but couldn't justify having 3 cars.
Well it's been a few years since I sold my 640D but after a happy interval driving an Audi it looks like I'm back in the Bimmer family. Put a deposit down on a M340d Touring. The garage are putting it through a fresh MOT and 4 new boots and all being well I should have it by the end of the week. It should be quite the change from driving a 2WD 200hp A6 Avant.
Avanti, Road master, singleng or some such tyres I'm sure unless you're very specific.
Private sale? Or to the trade?

Yeah I did, was around 17 I think. Lowest I had was 13 from WBAC.

Still amazes me how much a F 3 Series can go for, you can pick up a G series M340i for not much more. You'd have probably got more from Motorway if it had a good spec, assuming the 17k was the reserve price. I got almost 20% over it for a 335d Touring which surprised me as that was more than some private sellers.
Dealer that bought it sold it in 4 days for a 2.5k over what he paid me, it needed the diamond cut wheels refurbed but he had another set ready to put on it and would then have the ones off mine ready for the next one.
