Show us your kitty cats

In bed last night and heard Ronnie come in through the window.
Then heard some slopping noises so put light on just in time to see a mouse disappear down his throat.
Seems the old lad still has it.

I am in love, she is so affectionate. You can tell she was hand reared (her mum passed away when she was a couple of weeks old).

Needs to learn a bit about grooming, hopefully our two can teach her.
What a little beauty :)

I hate to write these types of posts...

We had to put to sleep Waffle this morning. She reached 16 years old. She'd had a rough time when she was younger having to be operated on for stuck furballs, three operations in total. She was put on steroids which would extend her life for around 12 months (we were told), that was in 2017.

Her stubborness was her biggest character trait, it was her way and that was it. Even the vet couldn't work out how she managed to live for as long as she did.

Her last few years had been difficult, we lost Winnie in 2021 and they were inseparable. We didn't realise but she obvioulsy missed him terribly and she just took to sleeping and not doing much else. To be fair he was always chasing her which kept her on her toes!

She'd taken to sleeping on the back of the sofa, eating/sleeping and not much else. I was away in Europe on a bike trip last week and she took a turn for the worse. Mrs was going to take her to the vets, but by the end of the day she perked up.

Yesterday she'd given up, stopped purring and eating. She had that look, didn't want to make eye contact. As hard as it always is we made the call this morning and we're both obvioulsy distraught, but it was the right thing to do. Even though we knew this time was coming it still knocks you off your feet.

RIP Waffle/Waffy/Nibs (she had soo many names)

Sorry for the downer guys :(

So sorry to hear that @unKle. I truly dread the day. They are family (actually, I prefer them to much of my family).

Our two adult cats are slowly getting used to the new kitten. We’ve had her out with them all of today. The hissing has stopped, the running away has stopped and all 3 have been asleep in the same room. Coco gave the kitten a few gentle taps when she invaded her space (most didn’t even connect), Snowy submitted and lay down and they seem to have come to their own cat understanding. Snowy likes to bound toward them, but I think she’s learning they like their personal space.

Snowy fell asleep in her new bed :)

Thank you. I totally agree with you there. They definitely are family.

We popped out for the afternoon to see her parents and see her Dad's new springer pups, helped take our minds off things.

We had a chat on the way home, almost trying to convince each other we done the right thing. When we got back to an empty house, automatically going to check on the cat.. yeh that sucked. Hard to get out of a routine after 16 years.

Still, seeing pics of your cats and others in here helps :)

Snowy is so adorable!!

Been a bad couple of weeks around here. One of my neighbours and good friend has lost two of her cats in a week and a half. First was Sid who had a tumour in his nose, one morning he went downhill really quickly so they made the impossible choice to have him put to sleep then ten days later they lost Ginger. Hee had been suffering from dementia and got lost easily when he went around the block. They woke up one morning to find him struggling to breathe and by the time they got to the vets (just five minutes up the road) he had passed away. Both were extremely old though. Ginger was 23 and Sid was 26 years old wwhich is by far the oldest cats I have ever heard of. That leaves them with Charlie who is Sid's brother. Three of us in a row had 8 cats between us and they were all welcome in all three of our houses so it hit all of us.
