Rugby union?

Now that the silly you beat us so we going to get 4 countries to beat you up tour is out the way we are into proper rugby :)

Nic White's retirement lasted long - he is starting against SA this weekend. Will be fun to see Skelton V Etzebeth. SA have a tough challenge to retain the championship with 2 away games in NZ and a rejuvenated Australia.

Really intrigued how the falcons will do in the prem this year - redbull seem to have done a good job with vision for the future, I read a linkedin post the other day about how they have broken the season ticket record.

On another note - looking forward to the WRWC starting on Friday :D

Great game SA v Australia - the Aussie looking better than they have in a long time in the second half.
NZ v Argentina on now!

Shame they couldn't do it again in the second test. Still a competitive game though.

Odd feeling watching an Aussie sports team and wanting them to win.

If you want to see a display of speed and power watch the 2nd half of the NZ v South Africa game. It has been a while since SA played like they are back to back world champions but finally it looks like the plans are coming together.

It has been a great championship will all teams winning and losing 2 games a piece, nice that the deciding game will probably be at Twickenham, though cheap ticked have gone up from £50 to £90 - gotta love dynamic pricing.

I've liked rugby for a while but never actually got into it fully. Going to watch more this year but getting confused with all the leagues. I know of premiership rugby and the cup but then there is Super Rugby, United Rugby championship. Are they both leagues as well?

Super Rugby is now Super Rugby Pacific. It is a franchise league with teams from Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Pacific Islands. South African teams were in the league till recently but they have joined URC. It normally has fast running rugby but due to time difference is hard to watch live in UK.
URC is also franchise league but made up of Ireland, Scotland, Wales and South African teams. As South Africa has only a 2 hour time difference it makes more sense for them to be in this league despite the long travelling times. Usually teams will travel for a 3-4 match tour.
Only England and France have a non franchise top league relying on old club structures.
The pain is that that to watch England Premiership, Super Rugby and URC you need 3 sports packages. TNT, Sky and Premier Sports respectively. So might want to look at the league that you have access too. It is a pity that TNT for the England Premiership as the coverage is very entertaining.

Thanks. I assumed Rugby was like football with league structures but I'm wrong about that apart from England and France as you said.
