What Audiobooks are you listening to ?

Listened upto book 8 of Expeditionary force, its quite addictive, the (audio) pacing suits the books
Managed to not buy the next and gone to wandering inn book 5 as I already bought 5 extra credits this month!

Eye injury means I am spending a lot of time listening

New Harry potter recordings out in a couple of months (think its 1 per month)

Oh and fans of DCC, not sure if its widely known rights have been acquired for a TV series.

Finished He Who Fights With Monsters 11 and just started 12. Can't believe I'm almost through all the 12 audiobooks.

The Wandering Inn series next.

I've started cycling to work, weather permitting, 10 miles each way, using bone conducting headphones, for listening to audiobooks not for cycling on, so I'm getting through audiobooks faster than when I drive.

Now who would I want to play Carl and who to do the voice of Donut?

I think there could be fan riots if Jeff Hays doesn't do at least Donut and Carl.

General feelings are that its more likely to be cartoon based as opposed to live action.

Did you add Chrysalis to your list to listen to?
I rate it higher than wandering inn and the first three books.

I have now.

Yes animated would probably be a good idea.

Going through the Chrysalis books again after the new one was released recently. But, there's also a new Everybody Loves Large Chests books coming out soon too. I think it's book 11. So need to go through that next.

Jeff Hays has been on youtube/discord recording the audio for Season 2 and 3 of the Audio immersion Tunnel versions of Dungeon Crawler Carl, so have been dropping in on that when I can.

We're not getting a new He Who Fights With Monsters for a while with how ill Shirtaloon has been. He's on the mend, but still not writing. He did make a video appearance at LitRPGCon though. Someone filmed it... Vertically

If you want to do a live action DCC I suspect that it'd be horrendously expensive with all the CG that'd be required for it. Other than the crawlers on the first couple of floors, it'll need to be almost entirely post production. Well, unless they want to spend a fortune on animatronics or makeup effects.

So this is an even more extravagant version? Same story? Soundbooth studio was already quite fancy for an audiobook...

See here for a sample

I actually find them too distracting so prefer the straight reads

Almost finished the first Dresden Files book, Storm Front. Bounced off the print version several years ago, but thought I'd give it a go. It doesn't require too much attention, so great for when I'm doing something tedious at work.
It's ok, I'll probably continue the series when I'm done with this one.

Caught a bit of Jeff streaming yesterday and he said that the everybody loves large chests series will move off audible for new books past 11

I am no particular fan of Audible but the size gives me some confidence anything I buy will be there for plenty of time
I don't really like the thoughts of soundbooth app as it could easily go pop and lose your content

Soundbooth App is much improved recently, have a few things through it. Files are of higher quality than audible use.

Shame the series is moving off Audible though, just having it all together in one place tracking what you have so much easier. But I suppose it has an audience now so they can use it to draw people to their own app. Same with the DCC Immersion Tunnel versions.

Happy listening to "Spec Ops" book 2 in the Expeditionary Force series. Absolutely great. RC Bray is always good value and the story just keeps me hooked (so many hints at possible storylines). And Skippy is hilarious.
I might have to rejoin Audible just to get the rest.

Theres about 12 more, it's getting very formulaic and repetitive but I keep going back for more.

Jeff said that if you send screenshots of audible showing the large chests books they will make them available on their own platform for free so that gets round the split issue
Personally I think 128k is plenty for audible. 192k also means larger files.

Done upto book 8 myself, just about to give in and buy 24 audible credits

18 books in the main series with a 2 book side series (mavericks) and a couple of extras (books 3.5 and 7.5)
I found 8 a bit annoying as he keeps referencing stuff clearly from 7.5 and mavericks as well.
Its done to inform you of what happened in them but feels clunky.
Hopefully by book 9 its all died down. At one point I even went and checked I hadn't somehow skipped a book in the main line, then realised it was the other books he was referencing
