Your guess is as good as mine.
They’ve still not been in touch, so presumably they’re doing something.
I’ve rebuilt enough gearboxes over the years and it’s pretty obvious when something’s worn, especially gears.

Bunch of somewhat like minded silly buggers went down to Provence for the last ten days or so.

Heck of a time. I've been to the last three years of this type of trip and this year I've felt better than ever on the bike and my pace and cornering speed/commitment is much improved. Last year we were in the Picos, which was pretty great, and better (less than 1 million hairpins) than the Alps and Dolomites the year previous to that. The Provence region is better still, more corners with decent sight lines, and a few hairpins to dial in that side of things. Oh, and a bunch of GS rolling roadblocks as happens everywhere .

Long ride back from that way, so I booked a fancy ass place for a quiet final evening.

4,870 miles on the Road 6 and there's half a mm before the rear wear marker. They were pretty great and confidence inspiring for almost every mile. I had a couple of slides coming out of some hairpins though I was pushing on hard and probably over eager onto the power. They then did mostly fine in the horrible wind and rain coming north again. My last slide was a mile or two before home on some nice greasy shaded road. I might try the new Roadtecs next. The H2s were using those and had just as much fun.

So do I, or I’m stuck with a bike that I can’t sell or P/X.
If you bought the bike from them it is covered assuming they gave you some warranty depends how long you had the bike my local dealer will give 3 months on a used bike depends how old the bike is etc., if not then your at Kawasaki's mercy if no joy then do the job yourself.

Is it something you could reject the bike for if they won't / can't fix it or is it too late for that?

I bought the bike from Wheels Motorcycles in Peterborough, but have taken it to Orwell Motorcycles in Ipswich as it's local (both are main dealers).
Any main Kawasaki dealer has a duty to fix it irrespective of where I bought it, but you may have a very good point there.
I'll find out out what's happening tomorrow, then see where I go from there.

Is your chain drooping on the white/orange bike? On the top edge?

100% agree - the manufacturer should sort this. End of. I'd go to the dealer in person if they're going silent on you.

It's a 2024 bike with full warranty, I shouldn't have to.
I've heard nothing for 2 days, so will find out what the hell is going on tomorrow.
Then your all good give them call there 20 miles from me never been there to be honest. Just get medieval on them.

@JonRGV250 I wouldn't be too worried yet, they might be arguing your case with Kawasaki and don't want to give you any wrong info. I'd chase them again today and give them a deadline for an answer, in writing. Not saying this will get legal, but in case it does, keep all correspondence (including times of phone calls) so you're not faffing about finding stuff should the worst happen.

Talk to me about chains & sprockets. I'm looking to purchase both for the ZZR and want something both good quality and good looking. Yes, I'm a tart for this kind of thing and am easily impressed by shiny stuff.

I'm looking at Renthal, DID, any other decent brands? Very concious of getting fake stuff too, so I'll only be purchasing from reputable retailers. I'm rather fond of my lower left leg.

EDIT:

According to ChatGPT, my stock sprocket pitch is 530. I can only find this sprocket in 520:

Alternatively I can get a 530, but rather than a lightweight model, it's hard anodized:

So the 520 seems to be lighter, given that I'm changing the lot I can save 1.5kg apparently, at the cost of tensile strength. And I'll have the sweet sweet gold look. Which do I go for?

530 seems big for a 600, usually they are 520 or 525.

Renthal or supersprox for the sprocket and DID gold X-ring chain. done.

ye but this was the fastest 600 at the time innit

(I suspect this plays in to their reputation for being absolutely unbreakable)

Looking in to this more, I'm just gonna stick with the below as I cba with sprocket thicknesses and spline counts and all that nonsense for almost zero benefit.

Front sprocket:

Rear sprocket:

Chain:

Gonna stew on it a bit more, as I might be overthinking this 520 stuff and it's probably a piece of ****, but I need to be absolutely certain.

I should probably do some work now anyway :p

Went out with the boy-child. His first ride on the 10. Once he got on the right place on the seat he was fine. A very nice chap took out photo for us! Then fuelled up, quick once over with some snowfoam and a rinse with hot water, then a blow-dry and tucked up for the night. The bike that is, not me...... :D:D

Took mine out for a pootle around after work, glad I got my colder weather jeans back out, as it was pretty darn chilly!

Sadly my ride home was completely spoilt by a Traffic Police car ahead of me, and some numpty doing 50 in a NSL in front of them. I did consider passing a few times, but never know what mood the Police might be in, and might end up giving my bike the once over - plate and can would probably get flagged if they were really bored.... so I just had to suck it up
