Is there a new everyday wonder drug coming?

It depends who say it....peer review...sure.

The current administration? the one that says you should drink bleach to cure covid? Not a million years.

Oh man! the UV inside the body quote pops in my head every now and then and I have a good chuckle to myself

Hope you're in a better place now dude, don't be shy to talk if you ever need to. It's perfectly okay to say you're not okay <3

Appreciate that.....that was about 20 years ago...but, the last 8 years have been quite bad too. Trying my best to get through it......

Cheers..

funny thing is, if abused Paracetamol is a truly nasty drug and arguably if it was invented today it would be far more tightly controlled (and i say that as someone who uses it fairly regularly)

The NHS are pretty hot on it...

I got hospitalised for 3 days because I "overdosed" on it.

By "overdosed" I mean took a couple more than 8 in 24 hours because I was taking 2 every 4 hours instead of every 6 due to having a nasty flu & pneumonia. They didn't care about the whole not being able to breath properly, hallucinations or fever of 40c+, no, the problem was the minor paracetamol "overdose" (bear in mind I was a pretty big heavily built fit (relatively) & healthy 40 year old...)

I've seen the rumours that paracetamol is going to be targeted by Trump / the United States as being a potential cause for the rise in autism diagnosis within the US - is it just the pessimist in me that believes this study will be full of hyperbole and nicely timed with the release of a new patented wonder drug which could replace it, with exclusivity to the patent holder for the next 20 years to make people (Trump and his cronies) rich(er)?
Does it involve bleach and sunlight?

Sounds like the NHS...

TBH you need to "overdose" on some of things things or they just don't work. Especially if you are a bit built.

Autism is a condition not an illness or disease so I doubt there will be a drug that "cures" it.

Exactly, there maybe some drugs that can alleviate the more severe symptoms but cure it hmmm

This reminds me of when someone I know came out to his parents, his Dad wanted to take him to the Drs to get a tablet to 'fix' him.

No one is arguing about a drug that will ‘cure autism’. They are saying paracetamol during pregnancy may contribute to making autism in the unborn child more likely. And the speculation/conspiracy in this thread is about a drug to replace paracetamol. Not a drug to ‘cure autism’.

And before anyone starts going “ackshually, but but but”. I’m not agreeing with the argument I’m just clarifying the argument. Fed up of reading people doing ‘epic takedowns’ of straw men.

The thread is “ackshually" about the possibility of a wander drug.

It is a neurological development disease . A Cure could in theory be possible , but would require a processes that restructures the brain. We are a very, very long way of even thinking about how to do this

It is not SC but I have not seen autism described as a disease in decades - where you did you your info from?
