What Audiobooks are you listening to ?

18 books in the main series with a 2 book side series (mavericks) and a couple of extras (books 3.5 and 7.5)
I found 8 a bit annoying as he keeps referencing stuff clearly from 7.5 and mavericks as well.
Its done to inform you of what happened in them but feels clunky.
Hopefully by book 9 its all died down. At one point I even went and checked I hadn't somehow skipped a book in the main line, then realised it was the other books he was referencing
Ive done the whole series and by the end it just gets silly - add new bad guy, inevitable doom, impossible Skippy magic, end.

Its feels very low effort tbh.

I'm now on book 11 of the Undead series by R R Haywood.

I love this series so much, but its a bit of a jerk going from Dan Morgan's narration to Joe Jameson, Joe's narration feels like wading through treacle compared to Dan's, and also his Dave character voice just makes him sound thick,
that said I'll perceiver in the hope he settles into the voices better over the series.

Finished the 12, and currently last, He Who Fights With Monsters book yesterday. When I started the series I wasn't a huge fan of Jason Asano but he grew on me over the last however many months it's taken me to get through all 12 books. He's still a huge **** but a likeable huge ****. I hope Shirtaloon is a prolific writer as I need more, just like I do for Dungeon Crawler carl.

I was going to start the Chrysalis books, got the first 3 for one Audible credit, or the first Wandering Inn book, but I decided I'd been listening to litrpg for the last year or so, so I needed to listen to a Sci Fi book again as Sci Fi is my favourite genre.

I'm now listening to To Sleep in a Sea of Stars by Christopher Paolini.

Unfortunately shirtaloon has been ill so the next installment is expected to take a little longer

Have you listened to everyone loves large chests? I have only done book 1 but thats pretty amusing.
Its one to listed to in isolation though, I won't say any more than that

Chests is on my list. I have heard some things about it ;).

Listening to a bit of Unruly by David Mitchell. I don't think I get on with the style of narrating nor possibly the writing. I'm moderately interested in the topic and it's presented in an engaging way by I find the sheer amount of quips and one liners just mean the actual content goes in one ear and out the other with very little sinking in so I have to keep rewinding. I probably won't finish this one, maybe I'll try the book instead and see if that sinks in better being able to flick back and forth.

Also listening to Harrow the Ninth but Tamsyn Mills. I'm still in the bit presented by someone that's experienced some severe trauma so they're both an unreliable narrator and it's been written in second person which is really jarring but that seems to have been deliberate so I'm persevering off of how strong the first book was.

Finished To Sleep in a Sea of Stars. Thought it was good, nothing outstanding but good.

Started The Wandering Inn. Listened to the first 2 chapters so far and I like the main characte of Erin which is good considering she’s the main character (Jason Asano eh?).

Just finished the 3 Dark Elf trilogy Books. HomeLand, Exile and Sojourn by R. A. Salvatore. Forgotten just how good it was. Have read it quite a few times in the past but never listened to it which is a new experience and has been excellent. Just started the Crystal Shard so working my way through the entire saga.

I went back to the start of ExFor while waiting for the next. Got up to book 3 which starts off on Paradise. Decided to look for something else and went for Ruins of Earth - because it has RC Bray narrating.

I didn't realise it was similar to ExFor. It's OK, I'll finish it and go back to book 3 of ExFor or the next book if it's out by then.

I liked the Scot Sigler Infected books. I prefer silly bubble gum Sci-Fi as I can have it on in the background or driving without having to concentrate too much on the story.

I'm just coming to the end of Tommyknockers - Stephen King. It's been a bit of a slog tbh. Overly long, not enough plot progression, and although I get that he wanted to build the characters, it felt like he'd spend 30 pages building a character that then gets bumped off and forgotten about in the next chapter.

Before that, I listened to "Never Flinch" by Stephen King which was quite a fun listen, and rolled along quite nicely. I didn't realise he'd written a series about Holly Gibney, so going to work my way through those, but first I'm going to have a break and listen to Ozzy Osbourne's book.

Unless its changed there was at least one missing book on audible, someone bagged the rights I guess
Was same with Terry Pratchett as well with a missing book

The "main" characters list slowly expands. Can be a little jarring when a new one suddenly comes into the story

Just finished one of my banker books (banker meaning one I know i will enjoy) in HHFWM 12 which I had held for a while

Literally looking through my list trying to decide whats next

Before this I listened to the Bloodsworn saga by John Gwynne which is viking inspired, was a good listen, but some of the names are a little similar at times.

The Wandering Inn. Erin can be a whinny little *****. I still like the character but man she can be annoying. I like Ryoka now though I wasn't too sure when she was introduced as I found/find the switch between first person and third person, in her chapters, a bit jarring.

Overall I am enjoying the book and will complete the series.

Just got to the part where Erin decides to wander round the area surrounding her Inn and she gets into a fight with a Shield Spider. The bit that has really annoyed me is when the Adventurer, Gazi, finds Erin just after she had destroyed the nest, Erin is saying she's a murderer and bemoaning she killed them all. I found this so annoying and not very well done given the spiders would kill her and others given the chance and given what happened to Klbkch after he saved Erin from the goblins.

I think the author makes all the characters "human" so no pure perfect people.

I am just coming to the end of book 8 now.
Its pretty unbelievable, one of the very top few books I have ever enjoyed.

i think your summation of Ryoka you will do with every new main character introduced. (And there will be quite a few)
You will go through the god I hate this new person, then tolerate then like.
I cannot think of a character i dont like, its really odd the emotional journey you go through with each one.

Book 2 is great by the way
