***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

So I'm currently packing up my house as I am in the process of selling. As part of this I broke down all my lego into bits and put them in plastic bags. I then proceeded to fill 13 x 50L boxes with these bags of lego (one just for the Falcon). Plan is to eventually sell of 6 or 7 of those boxes when I get settled at the new place. Way too much Lego.

We went to a National Brick Events show yesterday in Peterborough. Good day some nice builds and the kids enjoyed looking for some sets. My youngest got Eeyore BrickHeadz for a tenner which seemed like a good deal so we built that last night.

Err, no, peel em off and slap em on :D
My wife is the same, although she is getting better at it. I occasionally reposition any really offer ones. I find it more difficult these days, depending on reading glasses, light level and hand's behaving.

@Gav_r26 I have never heard of using a separator as an aid, how do you do it? I usually use tweezers and a careful hand blind luck.

Slightly sad about it, but have ordered a knock off Home Alone house. The plan was to get it as a Christmas display, but with my wife really liking Lego and Harry Potter stuff (she's about finished the mini diagon alley), i decided it was better to get her the Hogsmeade one.
Seems daft to spend so much on 2 big sets, so ordered a Chinese Home Alone house. Reviews of Marstoy seem ok enough

I've got £100 to spend on Lego, thinking Gameboy to go with the Nintendo, Pacman and Atari I have. Then I'm thinking the Star Wars sign (although just seen it like 30% cheaper on Amazon) to use with the helmets and droids I plan to rebuild and display at my new place.

I finally finished this. I bought it when it released, I think in April, but I'd do one bag of parts and then leave it for weeks and weeks for some reason. I absolutely love it. Although Nigel is comically small in comparison

omg what an incredible model! Didn't expect to feel so nostalgic for this livery.also, I'd heard that F1 drivers tend to be small but that's ridiculous

Does Lego ever have big sales or are the big 20-25% discounting usually only available at the likes of Argos/John Lewis?

I'm looking at some of the exclusive collector sets (Burrow/Hogsmeade) and wondering if it makes sense to just pay full price.

If you mean the new Burrows and Hogsmeade they are DCS (direct to consumer sets) so you'll only get them through Lego.com so you're looking out for Harry Potter specific sales or double points days. So sales are less common and less generous.

Cheers, i knew they were limited to Lego.com, but just hoped they might be discounted at some point. I keep seeing regular 20-25% discounts on the other HP sets, but never these. Unsure whether to just bite the bullet.

Given the cost of those sets I'd wait for a double points day as a minimum. If you're a HP fan the obvious one is to wait for is Back to Hogwarts day as that is when the best GWP's arrive.

Which unfortunately was at the start of this month.

Black Friday is coming up though.

The other thing is exclusive sets tend to find their way out into the retail channels eventually, probably next year for this one. That’s when you’ll start seeing discounts.
