*** The Official iPhone 17 thread (it has new camera bumps and everything!) ***

I had to move my eSIM over to another iPhone today for different reasons.

Said it was activating then failed, now I’ve got 2 iPhones with no activated e sim and current number not working!

Any one with any information on how to get this up and running again please?

Both phones support eSIM.
What network

I haven’t got anything O2….. when I set the second iPhone up it automatically transferred the eSIM, said activating, then failed. However it deactivated it on the Air, but never activated on the 17 pro, so now I don’t have my number working on either phone.

Apparently they couldn’t send me a qr code (as it needed a security code to my mobile phone number) which I don’t have access to atm obviously…..so they have sent me a new physical sim with the same number.

Bit of a chew this e sim malarkey. Think I’ll stick to a physical sim in future.

You can on o2 I believe
When I was on O2 I had so many problems with SIM activations, eSIM transfers etc. At one point I had to go into the bloody shop to sort it out. Glad I've left them now, never again. Atrocious signal, even worse customer service, and simple things being made very difficult.

My order for 29th Sept -6th October just moved to preparing to ship and took my money :) My friends came 3 days earlier than expected so slightly hoping it comes by the weekend!
Well, that was a good prediction. Just got my dispatched notification for delivery tomorow! :)

It’s even easier.

I went 14 Pro to Air and let the phones do the transfer, done and had signal on the Air within 5 mins.
Yep, that’s how it was supposed to go as planned mate, sky clearly had a different plan of approach! Now I have no signal for the next day or 2 until a physical sim comes in the post! Useless!

Apparently not as to pass security they had to send a code to my phone number (which I obviously didn’t have access to)

Absolutely ridiculous! Safe to say once I have a sim up and running again I’ll be moving networks.
That a load of crap what if you didn’t have a phone that takes a SIM card. I be ringing back telling them you only got an air how can I put a sim card in it.

So this transferred the eSIM to?
It's done this for a few years for me on EE every time I do my yearly upgrade. When you do a full clone of the old phone to the new one, iOS asks if you want to transfer the eSIM. It gets transferred completely automatically.

I wish it were this painless when it comes to upgrading the Apple Watches. Even on EE, you usually have to give them the ridiculously long EID number, which is a pain in the ass when the agent has no idea how to do it and you have to explain it to them.
