Borderlands 4 (2025)

Struggling to beat idolator sol, any tips? If I do some smaller mission to level up will that help? Or does the boss just level up with you?

I believe the level tracks. So it shouldn't be any easier. My only tips are, keep moving / dash constantly and circle. Keep an eye out for being in the right place. It helped me having my little dog companion thing with Vex, as that keeps him occupied from attacking you. Grab the green canister as quickly as possible when it lands, throw it at him, blast away. I think the arm is the weak point. Grind away. Grenades help. I do often breathe a sigh of relief with some of the badass / boss fights and then get naff all for my efforts lol.

I'm wondering why I've barely had any Legendary loot. I had some in the earlier levels but not had any for about 20 levels. Think I'm level 45 or so now. The ones I did get were a bit crap

They are a lot rarer in BL4. I can go long stretches where I dont get any. Likewise I've found that they arnt all that great. I wish I had left the Vending machine quest till later, Got a great Jakobs sniper rifle, with a COV endless magazine (until it overheats). Been my main weapon for the last 6-7 levels and its only really starting to see its limits now. Just started the final area and I'm around L38/39-ish. Keen to get the story finished so I can get to UVHM and better loot. I'd like to get this done soon as when BF6 releases. I cant see this getting much play time.

Think I'm at the stage now where I can put this down, got to UVH5 and build pretty much done item wise, few side quests left to check off but other than that will be waiting for DLC (if it's worth picking up or not)

Drops are lower but I wouldn't be too concerned, even at 'min max' level 50 builds you'll still want to be using some purples.

I heard people saying this might be better than BL2, then looked back at the 450+ hours I spent in that game. Combined it with a generous dose of man maths and FOMO - and bought the super badass version at £80 from Loaded.

It is a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a game. But if I play it for 400 hours, that's 20p an hour. Can you point at any form of entertainment cheaper than that?

There's lots of reasons why that is faulty reasoning. But don't feel you have to explain them. :D

That's a big "if" :D I can't see how anybody can get 400 hours out of a game that isn't a competitive game (e.g. MOBA, arena shooter etc.) or an MMO these days, there's just so many games releasing now.

Like what legs does BL4 offer that makes you think you can get 400 hours out of it? You'll finish the campaign, grind to max difficulty and farm some legendaries, then there's nothing left... I can't see how that's anywhere even in the ballpark of 400.

Beyond the main storyline there's quite a lot of side content / open world exploration if that appeals. And some people enjoy replays with the different vault hunters ( with new ones coming down the pipeline ). Plus there's a chance to attend a Thrum Dumpstr gig ... which is worth the price of admission alone ;)

Dont know about 400 hours, but I hit 50 hours played on BL4 last night and have only just cleared the first two areas of the map (which is about 25% of the whole map)...so assuming that the remaining 75% of the map is as content full as that first 25, means that I'll get 200 hours before I've done everything.

I'd be hard pushed to get 400, but 200 hours @ £40 (which is what I paid on cdkeys) is 20p an hour or 200 hours @ £60 if I had been daft and bought from Steam would have been 30p an hour.

400 hours won't you get bored i get bored after 50 hours and want to move on to something else.

I didnt get any added uk tax on my Borderlands 4, or my Dying Light The Beast, or my Endless Legends 2 last week.

edit : lol, if you use a guest account on cdkeys, it adds the 20% tax. If you use your actual account , it doesnt.

For example, I just logged into Cdkeys with my account and it has the checkout price for Borderlands 4 as 41.99. Then I logged out of cdkeys and the checkout price for Borderlands 4 then has the 20% vat added and is £50.

So that explains why I bought BL4, Dying Light and Endless Legends 2 and didnt have any added UK tax onto any of them, because I bought them all logged in with my cdkeys account. So the lesson here is, just use your cdkeys account when buying and you wont get a 20% UK vat added. Simples :)

So i have now played 120 hours on this and imho your better off sticking to UVH1 for farming literally everything in the game, be it specific gear your targeting for a build or random stuff..
Ive literally spent hours testing going from UVH1 to UVH5 vaults and moxys big encore and im getting just as many legendaries dropping on UVH1 but im killing much faster on UVH1 so net amount is more on UVH1.

I had hoped the so called "loot quality increase" would be potential stat increases but its is not, it just means more chance of firmware drops but plenty of firmware drops in UVH1 anyways and you only need 5 to min max your builds.
For example im running 2 piece Gadget Ahoy and 3 piece Risky Boots on my Rafa grenade build, considering firmware drops on crappy green rarity items you will be swimming in firmware.
