Best place to sell used GPU now?

Never had an issue with the bay but have had issues with FB only a handful of times but still enough for sure not to use again

What's the best place to sell a used GPU now? ebay is still toxic i guess? FB marketplace?
Gumtree, cash on collection

I've used cex for various bits but usually get a better price selling GPU's on gumtree

I've had people on mm here offer below cex prices, so have given up even trying

It's generally understood that prices on the MM will be less than other places but as a seller, you're pretty much guaranteed to have a hassle free sale. Buyer gets a favourable price and everyone is usually happy.

If you want more cash but risk potential problems with the sale, by all means try the other places.

I've sold a few GPUs on Ebay over the years and whilst I've never had any problems it always fills me with a bit of dread lol.

I'd much prefer to sell anything expensive face to face using cash preferably.

I'm pretty confused how you think that either cash on collection or CEX is more hassle than having to sort out postage
I've never had any hassle doing either of those, plus had more money at the end of it

it isn't a case of "trying" other places, I always put things up on gumtree even when I did list things on MM and then if neither of those offered more than CEX did within a couple of weeks then I just drop it off with them the next time I go in to town, that is the most hassle free set of circumstances, I've just given up on MM as in the last 5 years I've not had an offer over CEX and then they wanted it posting included

I've almost always used MM. No issues at all, selling to this community always felt more secure. I've lost MM access now due to the new posting rules.
Got some kit to sell and really do not want to chance the Bay. But the current sold prices I'm seeing are very enticing.

Ebay is fine, always take good and clear pictures esp of the serial numbers etc and if needed I always put up a picture of a stress test/screenshots to show its working fine and send it via the correct postage method. I keep all the boxes and packaging of my stuff and its so easy now I dont even have to write the address on the box now just scan the code and put the printed label on the package.

CEX is more hassle to get to than any postoffice and I'd rather not sell into their ecosystem as people complain about the price of hardware yet happy to use this service and aid their market as they influence pricing.

I didn't tell the whole story, apologies.

We have a post room at work so sending stuff off is a piece of ****, does make trading on the MM much easier than CEX or having some whopper come round and lowball me in person or simply just not turn up.

What I should have said was depending on people's circumstances, because I imagine quite a few people do work at places where you can do that.

taking pics of serials is pointless - I had a motherboard come back to me mangled with the serial removed (probably bought mine to replace a mobo he'd already mullered) and ebay ignored the before pics showing it was sent out pristine and refunded the buyer

That's only if one is worried more about sending expensive product Vs getting mugged in person. I still prefer sending it (especially that eBay has now insurance built in so they worry less about what is being really sent as insurance will pay it back so both buyer and seller are ok) - especially after buddy of mine got almost knived selling an iPhone in person.

I had very mixed experiences with Cex when selling phone there - perfect shape visually but they used a strong magnifying glass to find any smallest scratches just to lower the price by a third. In the end I sold it for much more on eBay without issues. Different thing with GPUs possibly but bad experience pushed me away. Dealing with people directly I avoid - not very safe in London these days.

Sorry to jump in.. But how many posts are needed to access the market now? Thanks

Members market ideally, always list stuff here first. Definitely safest and people are willing to deal with warranties and stuff.

If it doesn’t shift on here then I generally go eBay, I’ve not had a problem with it and have shifted 4-5k worth of stuff this year. You are pretty screwed if you do get a dodgy buyer though.

One thing to remember with eBay and any other market places - they are under legal requirement to report your sales to HMRC if you cross over 1740 quid a year and let HMRC decide if you need to pay any taxes for that or not. Usually not, but... Government will keep an eye on you.
