Imgur has blocked the UK

As @Kenai has pointed out, they've almost certainly looked at the options and decided that just region blocking the UK is easier and cheaper than jumping through the hoops to comply with the OSA or risk multi-million pound fines.
But there are no hoops to jump through. They removed all adult content and don't even allow partial nudity any more. They have literally nothing to worry about.

This is what I just don't understand about the OSA. I mean, VPNs are a thing.
As someone who's job it is to filter and monitor the internet for students in a school, I well know that anything put in place that doesn't completely block all VPNs as well is completely pointless. I even restrict all traffic on port 53 to only our DNS and Cloudflare due to the number of VPNs that tunnel over that port to disguise themselves as DNS traffic.

@Feek & the other mods/admin
Is it worth a sticky on the pic heavy threads mentioning this and legal ways to make sure we can all carry on as we were before this?

They obviously deemed otherwise. This is the problem with outlier policies like this, it's far easier for companies to just turn off the UK rather than comply.

BUT THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!!

Seriously, is anybody surprised? People running websites probably see if t as more trouble than it's worth to allow the UK access.

Certainly annoying as it was my go to image host for the last 10+ years and I did use it fairly often on here and now unless your a VPN you won't be able to see embedded images from imgur.

Will have to look at a new hosting site, the joys!

Now that the children are taken of and are perfectly safe, how about protecting our stupider adults from facebook/x/etc. Something tells me that is not going to happen...

More fun that I can’t delete my imgur account or request GDPR deletion ;).. so I suspect there’s going to be some fines levied out for non-compliance in not enabling EU/UK citizens to delete their data..

Wow, they really went nuclear didn't they, oh well, it's worth it FOR THE CHILDREN

/s just in case

Yes, I just tried to access the website and cant. If the website is useless for me now, then I at least want to delete all my data and close the account :/ The annoying thing is that I only really use it for this forum.
Utterly ridiculous this OSA thing.

Same, guess we can just use a VPN to login, then delete? (or get someone not in the UK to login for us and delete account)
