BMW and M Power Owners

I did a big "whoops my hand slipped" over the weekend and now have a 2021 G20 320i M Sport sat on the drive :D finding one with Comfort and/or Visibility packs was looking very unlikely for the price point I was shopping at, but it has at least got the Tech pack so I've got the Harman Kardon sound system and HUD. I know a few will say I'm missing 2 cylinders but for me this engine is more than enough :p

While looking through the BMW Approved Used stock, I noticed that from '21 reg onwards, cars have very often had things deleted, so this looks to be right at the start of the chip shortages. I even saw one with the Tech pack had its HK system removed as well as the wireless charging pad and a couple of other bits  I got lucky and have nothing deleted, with the added bonus that it didn't come with run flats (which the brochure says was standard equipment with the standard 18" wheels).

2021 420i and just got a notification that I have a software udpate available.

The version number is 03/2033.567. cant find anything with that version number online, anyone else had a recent update?

Thanks
2033? :p you sure about that one? For reference, my 2021 320i has iDrive 7 with 11/2023.50 installed, and I've not had notification for anything further (at least, not yet).

Yeah typo, 11/2023.567 thanks for spotting that. Update is still sitting in the MY BMW app as request sent, any idea how I can force the update?

Thanks

No idea, sorry :p only got mine two days ago. From what I've seen online, once it's downloaded in the app you just go for a drive in the car and it'll transfer as long as you've connected your phone to car WiFi?

Anyone here got a M5 comp after 2020/2021? Really like the look of these and badly want to buy one but the prices are a bit steep still! In terms of perfect all round car, there are probably very few that tick all the boxes like this does for me

Got a superb quality repair guy coming in the morning, I'm sure he will do a great job as always, anyway the big question is WTF happened here, absolutely no idea

Don't forget that during the COVID and ensuing chip shortage, some options were not available, including HK audio and wireless charging. My dad's 2022 330i has neither as a result

Absolutely no idea, wish I knew
I had something similar at the back of my old 1 series, like someone had very precisely hit it with a hammer.. no paint damage just a dent.

In the end I think I traced it to something falling out of a tree.. looks to me like conkers or similar that have either hit it or you've driven through falling/bounced up from the road and you've hit.

Yeah, I had a 21 plate M5 Comp and probably still have it if it wasn’t written off by a drunk driver. As you say, it’s a great all rounder. The front seats are fantastic, super adjustable and really comfortable. The boot can fit two large suitcases and two cabin bags so plenty of space. 4 adults can travel in comfort with decent leg room and although the ride is firm it isn’t crashy. The only thing I didn’t like about it is the steering, as it feels dead and the brakes are a bit snatchy and all at the top of the pedal. I had an E63S before the M5 and I thought the steering feel was much better on that and felt that handing was better balanced also the multi plate wet clutch auto was better suited to the car than the torque converter as the changes were snappier but it was built like crap with the interior rattling and creaking at 14k miles. Overall the M5 was a better built car and probably the better car as a daily driver. As you probably know, for what weights nigh on two tonnes, the thing can shift

Re the dents on my 640d roof, had them fixed today for just £70

How did he repair it? Roof dents are a nightmare usually. In the past I've had a small one that a dent guy had to pull from above and it was about 90% invisible, they can't get access underneath without removing the headliner (major job).

Another time someone seemingly stood on the roof of my 5 Series and it needed a whole new roof skin as it was beyond repair.

hot glued some post type things to it then used a small slide hammer on them, did some minor finished work with various tools after, certainly I cant see any sign that there ever was an issue

Yeah. 2021 Ultimate pack, MBB, Silverstone interior. Owned from new. Not put a foot wrong and absolutely mental.

Takes a 5000 mile Euro trip every year too

Got to bring my M340d home today and I'm delighted with the car, but I've found a massive issue. I can't get the blimming thing in my garage. Car bottoms out and I have no intention of ripping the front bumper off. I never had an issue getting the A6 in or my wife's mini (very different wheel bases obviously so it wasn't something I even contemplated). This is a problem!

Is there a step into the garage? Try putting some blocks of wood down to "step" down for the car to drive up.

There is a step before the garage but I feel like raising the car before that will make the car ground further as the road cambers down towards the drive before it goes back up. It got too dark really to make any proper judgements but I plan on being out there tomorrow morning with some wood and crossing my fingers. I assume it can't be that much a difference. A quick google suggests the clearance isn't much difference from my A6 although I'm not sure how much the M sport skirts make a difference.
