*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

Thing which still bothers me about this game, my first play through I got a good ending, where V lives, a hybrid of two other endings, and I've literally never seen anyone else get the same ending and it isn't mentioned in any guide, etc. I can only assume it was a bug which would be kind of funny.

I got the mods working, I needed to install REDmod in Steam DLC section, now the enable mods button works.

Just got the basics working like CET extra so far and also in the middle of a mission that I need to finish before I test.

Recently the game crashes every time I close the game, maybe a 2.31 thing but not an issue otherwise, saved games are fine.

Mods are needed for a lot, as I completed the game but you just get dumped back to before you did the final mission, now doing the DLC, but mods can be used for game plus starts etc. Or maybe another play through with mods.

My crashing on exit seems to have stopped for now. If it crashes now it's usually down to some mod issue. @Terminal_Boy how does yours run on an i5 2500K? :) I found that this game needs 32GB as it quickly goes over 16GB system usage. I do need to reboot my PC sometimes as Windows slowly keeps all the RAM until the game needs to use swap file and get slow framerates.

I've pretty much finished the DLC. I've now gone down the modding rabbit hole. It's a shame because mod support comes and goes as the game is actually nearly 5 years old and patching can sometimes break mods, which may not be supported anymore. If only they had supported the mods in a way that didn't break them with patches. The third person mod looks good, but I royally messed up as my V's arms started to behave strangely, more like legs lol so I'll fix that later.

DLSS struggles the most when NPCs are talking, their faces tend to blur, not really an issue of this game though, unless it's using an out of date DLSS version?

The plot/story is confusing to the point of I have literally no idea what they're talk about half the time and making me to choose between 2 big plot points seems forced for replay value, I prefer the smaller gang/crime/cyberpsychos missions, I think there are more mods for those as well.

I do like the game in terms of setting a new high bar in how games can look with path tracing etc, even with the glitches/shortcuts they had to pull to get it to run fast enough.

I’ll have to check how much RAM I’m running. It was 16GB when I built the PC in 2011/2, but I seem to remember upgrading something when the Vega 56 went in around 2016/17.

I try to have nothing but Steam, Vortex and the game running when I’m playing, but I do occasionally have the game slow to a crawl when in the Inventory system, often when Crafting.

I've restarted with a new play though of CP2077, I last played pre 2.0 and played about 20hrs before dropping it at that time

I'm playing a shotgun build, I saw this Adam smasher build online that looked cool

Is the current price on Steam for this + Phantom Liberty a very good deal,
or does it drop lower than that from time to time?
Seems to be usual discount, honestly if your not 100% sure on the game just pickup base edition and then grab DLC in winter sale if you want it

Picked up both in the end (GOG) for less than the Steam price.
Looking forward to trying it out; just got to wait an age for the download to complete.
For a first run through, I think I'll play it 'au naturel'.

I didn't realise that GOG's refund policy was so generous, but hopefully, I won't need it in this instance.

Further down the modding rabbit hole! and not just the dodgy stuff :)

Third person mod is a bit too janky and I've disabled it for now as it was glitching my view, or maybe it's the replaced character animations mod, more testing required. TBF TPP is still beta I think and may remain so at this point.

There are 2 things that remain a mystery to me: why is there no V reflection in windows etc and likely a related problem, no third person option. My guess is they tried but removed the feature as it was too hard/ran outta time. When you see V's shadow, the animation is pretty basic and lacking, which breaks immersion.. all that effort for graphics and they left it in that state.

Games that use both first and third person views are interesting to me now because of this, it's not even a new thing, Oblivion did it in 2006 for one? Starfield does it but you can feel a difference in the character feel when moving around, feeling faster/slower, I stay in first person mode most of the time in that game. RDR2 has both but feels better and was designed to be played in third person. I think I switch to first person when indoors.

Recently gave the Preem Weather and LUT mods a go, those maybe the best mods yet and it's look similar to those realism videos on YT, combined with walking mod that really is very good for immersion, tempting to replay it or game+ mode with that. Until I walk past a window.

Just getting my feet wet with the game. I've had two crashes so far, but overall, I'm quite pleased with how it looks/performs.
It would seem like I can run PT with quality upscaling at 1440p, and still receive quite playable frame rates. Early days, though.

Near the end of my third playthrough and whilst I have stuff to do, I've hit max level and weirdly with no more progression, I was starting to get bored. Hoo, there's a level 80 mod. Installed and boom, I can start earning levels again. Nice.
