Without turning this into a chat about losing dogs.

Seeing Lewis' post on this took me back to when we had our last dog put to sleep, not my decision but I had to be there for Buster and was the last one to hold him as he went. Myself and many others know the pain he's going through right now.
I think with being ill and on antibiotics too, it absolutely destroyed me today, didnt have that on my bingo card this year.

Losing a pet is like losing a family member, in a lot of cases. I don't have a dog myself but know of many people who have mourned the loss of theirs, in a few cases like this, where it had to be put to sleep.

Wouldn't surprise me if he took the next race off, understandably, to process it etc.

TDF ran several historic F1 cars at the British GP this year, including a few Jordans for the tribute run to Eddie Jordan. A good watch if you've got 15 mins to spare, or want to hear some V10s again.

I'd be surprised if he did. Elite sportspeople don't think like you or I. And given how we've seen Lewis behave in adversity before, I wouldn't be surprised to see him turn it into his strongest performance of the season.

I couldn't tell if it was fake news (well, an old clip) but I saw a video of Lewis in the paddock at Singapore yesterday. I agree with you too, some of his best performances have come from troubles. Brazil 2021 anyone?

That said, I'm going away this weekend so will miss the GP. General consensus is that the Singapore track will favour RB out of the top four teams right? So my early prediction is another pole and win for Max. I just hope McLaren don't have a disaster and manage to get P2 and P3 and keep things sensible. If either of them DNF they're really going to put the pressure on themselves. From what others are saying the following tracks will let the McLaren shine again so hopefully we'll be back to 'usual' after this race.

I wouldn't thought the paddock is set up in Singapore yet?

I'm also away, not sure if I'll catch the race or not. I'm not sure it'll favour RB: it's the only race on the current calendar that Max hasn't won, and McLaren were strong here last year. I think I favour one of the McLaren drivers to win.

I think we need to wait and see about how the red bull performs at Singapore, the last two races were low downforce tracks, Singapore is a higher downforce one.
So lets see if the resurgence is real or just track related.

Alex Dunne is no longer part of the McLaren academy. There are rumours connecting him with Red Bull, which would be an interesting move. He's not quite put it together this season in F2 but I think there's enough promise there I'd like to see him get a chance in F1. Been a while since we had an Irish driver.

Yeah. Sad state of affairs where seemingly half of people just don't believe (or care) about climate change yet we literally can't run sporting events in certain countries, without resorting to harming the environment even more by having AC in football stadiums or athletes wearing cool vests :confused: I'm no tree hugger but it's bonkers if you think about it.

EDIT: lol did I just see Ted Kravitz attempting an ice bath? :p :eek:

It's a new protocol. They now have cooling vests and they're required to fit the system and given a bit of weight allowance for it. The system was tested in last year (I think only Russell used it?) but this year it's mandated to fit it during a "heat hazard" race whether or not the driver actually uses it.
