Fantastic Four (2025)

"The bad guy"

Yikes

What's your point exactly? That he couldn't be bothered typing the names of characters out?

It's obvious who the bad guy is. There are two women who feature heavily in it so was it Silver Surfer/Shalla-Bal or Sue Storm he found attractive?

...but yeah when people can't even be bothered to use names, I'm getting high seas copy while doomscrolling vibes.

I'd be more interested to hear what people actually liked about this movie, i cant really think of anything. I suppose the space bits looked alright and the woman was quite attractive. The plot was terrible, slow, boring and had no action, plus it was full of cliches. The bad guy was supposed to be billions of years old but he was stupid and just moved around slowly and was weaker than the woman. The heroes hardly used their powers etc etc.
Their powers are all pretty terrible against someone like Galactus, and apparently the all powerful being only brought his glowing eyes to the fight.

I like how they have to travel FTL to meet him then a bit later he's parked outside Jupiter and takes ages to get to Earth so that they can build their little pylons. Very weak acting/casting too - say what you want about the 2005 movie but they all had a personality (Jessica Alba had the biggest personality).

As far as MCU movies goes, it's better than a lot of the rubbish they've put out since things started going downhill, but definitely not something I'd rewatch.

I do wonder if writers read their own work and question the same things, like how Glactus managed to fly from that planet seemingly in a month yet took weeks to get through the solar system.
Do they just think sod it, who cares, no one will notice?

Is it impossible to make a film that never has a plot hole without it being super boring?

You definitely can’t expect movies to cover every possible plot hole, but that’s different to lazy writing.

This movie was pretty lazy, which is sometimes ok when there other redeeming qualities, but it didn’t even have interesting characters outside of Galactus and Surfer. Should’ve just given us a Galactus movie.

Enjoyed that - so much better than Superman in the GotG skin.

I didn't like the casting Sue and Ben were good, Johnny was supposed to be a lady killer and smooth talker, were we looking at the same guy? tbf Chris Evans did it better :) As for Pedro, he certainly does not come across as the most intelligent man on the planet - part should have gone to someone else. However, by the end, i was rooting for the FF :)

Didn't like the 1st 10 - 20mins, bland banter. However once the Excelsior blasted off, the whole set piece with Galactus and the Silver Surfer was excellent. It was a wild ride until the end!

Yeah - decent :)

If they were true to the source material then technically he's meant to be somewhere between 16 and 18, around the same age as Spiderman (Strangely they took him into space as a kid). He was never a lady killer, maybe Chris Evans caused that.

Fair one - just shows how well CE played the character. FF 2025 Human Torch was bland AF, CE brought him to life.

Saw this with my kid when it was at the cinema. Felt much the same as I did about the majorly of the recent Marcel movies, the tone felt all over the place which meant any sense of threat they tried to build up always felt completely undermined.

He's been a bit of a ladies man since the 70's, I distinctly remember he being a bit of a 'heartthrob' in the animated stuff from teh 90's (f4 and spiderman)

But he also stretched out Pedro Pascal like he was gonna use him as a rubber and sniffed some trees!

This was terrible, all f4 films are pretty bad but this was probably the worst. Should have called it alt+f4 and shut it down from the start.
The third one was total pap this one isn’t far behind though. First two films are miles better. Saying that this was better than Superman Legacy or whatever it was called that was an embarrassment yet the latest Jurassic Park managed to even outdo that in the ****stakes.

Watched this yesterday, way better than the previous rehash, the back story I found a bit boring and tedious, just wanted them to get on with it. Also did seem strange that they got Mole Man in on the act and not Doom?

I loved the Silver Surfer in FF2 and when I saved loved I really loved him, in this film she didn’t really get that much screen or action time except the whole recap of her beginnings!

I kinda got the feeling that they put the Earth 818 (or whatever) at the start so that they can just reboot the story via a multiverse explanation. This one in particular seem to me to be set in a world around the 50s.

yay a infinite number of marvel/dc movies because of the multi verse aspect.

Next batman movie is exactly the same, however instead of a black costume it's light gray. And in the next one Bruce is blonde.
