*** The Official Nintendo Switch 2 ***

Nice to have confirmation of the changes. The physical is both games right? I might pick that up in the future when the new releases slow down a bit.
Yeah physical is bundle only, can be found for just under £50 now so I'd guess it'll be around for closer to £40 after a little while.

Other changes are more storybook entries (especially in Galaxy 2) and gyro controls now work in handheld mode in addition to touch screen for aiming. Assist mode is basically an easy mode.

It sure does look nice in 4K, I haven't played it since the Wii and Galaxy 2 is in my top 5 games ever so I'll pick it up at some point likely. Too many new games I want to play for now.

I haven't managed to get into final fantasy tactics yet. It's a lot more in depth than I realised so need more than a quick dip in the evening.
The camera is pretty annoying but there's definitely the potential for me to enjoy it. I got the Switch 1 version as cheaper and get the proper game card.

It doesn't look like All Stars 3D Galaxy will get an update.

The All Stars version is the Wii version emulated in 1080p with mods, while the new releases are native ports with some texture improvements, higher resolution (4k for Switch 2), an assist mode etc.

That's a shame. I kinda expected it, but still a shame for those of us who bought that collection; as it's essentially devalued it.
I'll CONSIDER buying the Galaxy pack, but I'll wait for pricing to move a bit.

One thing the Wii version will always do better is the pointer accuracy because of the IR/sensor bar setup, but I've heard the gyro/pointer controls work quite well in the ports.

I can bet you that 6 months from now, its still £50 new
I wouldn't bet against that, in that most places will sell it for £50, but I think some places will sell it a bit cheaper like how MKW and Bananza can be found a bit cheaper than at release now.

Can you play Mario galaxy with a Pro controller? I'm really not into waggle controls for anything and if my experience would be diminished by doing so, I won't bother getting it.

They don't, there's only one version of Galaxy 1+2 and 4k mode just activates automatically if on Switch 2.
Oh is that right?! I saw a digital download for it which had the S2 label. Assumed there was a specific S2 version.

I might bite if it drops to 40, even though I do own All Stars already.

As above it just triggers when it sees the S2. Same as you I’ll bite if it get a decent drop though I own 1 already.

Is anyone able to confirm how well (or not) Star Wars@ Outlaws runs on the Switch 2?

I have read that it performs reasonably well (factoring in the 30FPS cap) but having messed around with it on my laptop (5070 Mobile GPU) where the framerate goes from being decent to terrible seemingly at random (playing the Demo it was all fine until I went round one corner in Tatooine and it crapped itself - went from ~50FPS down to low 30's for no obvious on screen reason).

It is the sort of game that appeals to me as a more casual ~30 mins here and there in handheld mode (I don't generally ever run docked).

Digital foundry did a full breakdown on this looks pretty good.
