*** The Official macOS Tahoe (26) Thread ***

Does anyone know how to change the size of the font for the clock at the login screen. It's heinously big.

On the iPhone you can make it smaller.

How do they let clowns make these design decisions?

Really regretting upgrading so far, it's got quite a few annoying bugs in it. Safari needs to be restarted occasionally, and smooth scrolling in most browsers only seems to work when it wants.

I don't mind this release but I haven't found anything noticeably better than the previous version. The app I use to limit battery to 80% doesn't work but I'm sure it'll be fixed at some point.

Same, I can't actually remember the last time I regretted upgrading so soon.

I'm finding I'm having to Force Quit applications quite regularly and the Apps replacement quite often doesn't want to actually show me any apps...this release felt nowhere near ready.

And I still dislike this new Liquid Glass look and left aligned text :/

I think it'll be the same as when BMW introduced the new grills; you never fully like them but you'll get used to it.
26 does look a bit naff though and it feels like the UI redesign was this year major "feature" and done purely for the sake of Apple "needing" to release a major every year

There are some settings in System Settings > Wallpaper, but it seems like you can only change the font, font weight and whether the clock shows or not. Doesn't seem to be a way to reduce the actual font size of the clock.

Any way to get the Brightness and Volume Up/Down to appear back into the middle of the screen, rather than just below the system icons (and or bigger)? Really, really annoying having it moved after all these years.

Bump,

Any workarounds for this?

Figured out why scrolling in browsers feels bad, well it was bad system wide. Culprit is Bartender, I've quit that and it's back to being buttery smooth.

There seems to be those that are fine with Tahoe and those that wish they'd never seen it! I've been less than impressed with iOS 26 and perfectly happy with Sequoia on my MacBook that for now I've held off upgrading. I expect Tahoe will get polished with updates and move out of user beta :D
